Hello,

This is my first wooden ship model kit, I have built other models of wood, and ships and tanks from plastic. This is the San felipe by Occre, I got this kit in july and started in early august and hope this will turn out good.

Hope anyone that watches this build log progress will enjoy, thanks.

How is yr build coming on, you certainly got of to a great start, but i would look again at ensuring the planks fitted to the hull are in full contact with the bulkheadsimage.jpeg.7950ef2711b8feae14da2fc4ba2a205c.jpeg

Well, I have been gone for a while and didn't have time to really work on the model, but last 2 weeks were open so here is a small update, I put satin varnish on the decks, and completed the deck on one side, the other will wait to next update, I have put wood filler and sanded it (yes this is after sanding and it is smoother than it looks), other than that this build has double planking so the second one is the smooth one, this is fine imo

Sadly due to a poor quality station for the ship, and me using too much strength i broke the side and tried fixing it.

if there are any tips on masking the damage, I would welcome help

you could cut the broken side panel and remove, and place some support under the deck and reapply

Roy, I have two models of San Felipe, both inherited and started, the smaller came with two SF-boxes with items hopefully to make one complete ship.

Please get back to your build as it looks really good.
