Very impressive, Alan. The yellow looks great. And the lions do, too. I get a kick out of the war hammer he's carrying. Looks a lot like the Halligan tool firefighters use to pry open doors in a hurry.

Thank you very much Ken. There was a point when I was regretting not going with the gold and blue simple halves. Assuming he’s not on standby for a car crash that hammer is a nasty piece of work and someone could get hurt.

This is getting better and better Alan, Your knight looks splendid and I love the idea with the paper insignia. Color rendition and metallic sheen are excellent.
On the first picture, the shield looks very shiny. I would have thought it to be matte in appearance, but this is just me.

Cheers Rob

Thank you very much Rob. I need to try to sketch out the outline of the device and then see if I can freehand paint it but the paper cutout was a surer option. Maybe next time on something a bit simpler.
Thank you for the feedback about the shield. I sealed the lion with gloss medium and never gave it a thought. You are right, it should be matte and I’ve just given it a coat of matte varnish.

Impressive knight. And now for the damsel in distress? The dragon, or do you have another of those heavily armed boys?

I think you should gicve the shield a matte overpaint, it is abit too glaring compared to the armour. Shields were made of wood and leather, nothing shiny.

Thank you very much Jan

A dragon would be a perfect addition. Unfortunately my dragon is rather uncooperative.

So it might have to be another of these hooligans.

Superb Work Alan,   One of  your best pieces of work.

OC.

Thank you very much OC. Pegaso make some excellent figures and a wide range of subjects. I’m hoping to be in Europe in January and I’m wondering if I can grab a couple while I’m there.

Perhaps your knight is a 'dragon whisperer' ?

Many years ago I built a model of a Knight Templar with the same kind of helmet. One thing I was never too happy with it the metallic appearance of the material. Somehow, the surface of these castings is always a bit uneven. I never tackled another model like this, but perhaps today I would look into smoothing the surface with a burnishing steel or agate, rather than just polishing it with a felt-wheel. Has anyone tried to burnish such metal parts ?

Wow fantastic!  Really nice job Alan, you've turned these into little works of art.

Thank you very much Mike. Painting these little chaps is proving very enjoyable, the trick now is getting hold of the kits, the makers all seem to be Europe based. Luckily I still have a few Art Girona kits squirreled away
