Jack12477 reacted to Canute in M4-A1 Sherman Tank by Osmosis - Italeri - 1:35
Art, just be careful with these cements and fillers. They give off volatile organic compounds. One reason I went for the Vallejo filler, no odors. The acetone and other chemicals give me a buzz (not a fun one, either), so I mask up with a good 3M product to eliminate the effects. Have fun; you've fallen into a fun "rabbit hole".

I am still going to have to roll around in some sawdust every now and then just to get rid of the smell of plastic. Lol

We always figured we would use the Bill Cosby method of surviving a helicopter crash. Wait until just at impact and jump up! (You have to be familiar with the old Bill Cosby comedy records.)

Marvelous build, Jesse. You have done her, and yourself proud. I have enjoyed the, sometimes bumpy, road trip, and learned a few tricks on the way. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the likes and the tips.
Based on recommendations from another thread I started in the plastic ship section I already have Testors cement and quick drying liquid glue. I had to order the Tamiya quick dry green bottle from amazon that should be here Monday. I got both just to see if I like one over the other. I already have acrylic spot glazing putty. I need to order some Tamiya paint and a few other airbrush related supplies but other than that I feel like I am all set.
Got started tonight deburing some of the parts for the suspension assemblies. That should keep me busy till the painting supplies get here.
Thanks

With the exception of the gun barrel, there is not much changed between the two kit models. Maybe near the end I might make changes, which if I do, I will post here.
Unless this lockdown ends real, real, soon, I will be stymied for a display because I have run out of plaques in my stash And my one local source is shuttered for now. Need to study some diorama videos anyway.

Jack12477 reacted to Tom E in B-25J Mitchell by Tom E - Revell - 1:48 Scale - PLASTIC
Evening,
Cold, rainy night in New Hampshire. That means a good hearty dinner is needed.
Some pasta, red sauce, Italian sausages and garlic bread should do it!!!!
No grog tonight....tall glass of Coke loaded with ice.
With a full happy belly, Mitchell needs an update.
Popeye, Lou,
I am very new to PE. This project is my introduction to it, never worked with it before.
With that said, I'm very glad I did. It really looks good.
I also have been using some resin machine gun barrels. I'm very happy I bought those.
The bomb bay is all painted and ready to be glued in.
After many trial fits, I decided to attach the forward and rear walls first.
Everything fit really well, didn't need much extra work.
Once the glue sets the top piece and bomb racks will go in.
I have a backlog of painting to do.
Started with that distinctive yellow stripe on both engines.
Used Tamiya flat yellow with Tamiya thinner.
I made sure the inside lip was yellow. The very inside will be painted an earth green.
The engines have been painted with Tamiya gun metal.
Kinda shiny, but since the engines are mostly covered, I'm not too worried about it.
The rear machine gun has it's new barrels and was also painted gun metal.
The resin barrels were tricky, a little wonky, but really look good!
The engine cowlings have been taped up.
I'll be using a Mr Color flat Earth Green.
This will be used for the entire exterior. I tried to match the box art.
Not too bad.
The bases of the engine have been painted as well.
We'll let these set up overnight.

Put those angle irons on the front to hack through the bocage. I forget what they were called for real. You armor experten can handle that stuff.

The Culin Hedgerow cutter.....
And a different style...
The first one is an early DV ported short barreled Sherman and actually after the hedgerow battles. Its been re-tracked with T-51 tracks....
The lower pic being a long barreled A-1 cast hull Sherman without the direct vision ports, probably during the breakout.....
