  3. See that MicroMot transformer in the back ground there. A great set of tools.
  4. Alan if you want to get a good finish you will need to place some temporary strakes inside the model. Use PVA which you can easily remove with 90% alcohol when you are finished and you will never know you put them there. The problem with sanding at this point is that there is too much movement in the frames. The temporary strakes solve this problem. When you are happy with the outside you reverse the process and temporary plank the outside and sand the inside. kevin
  5. On another note Greg there seems to be some question on the use of bronze sheaves or wooden ones. The book seems to indicate that in some cases bronze was used.?
  6. Its an interesting response as in the Swan practium a number of the sheaves a number of the blocks contain Bronze sheaves.
  7. I have been using a slight bevel to get a nice tight fit in some cases. In one case it resulted in my having to remake the piece 4 times. I do try to get the fit correct before using the bevel.

  10. This cost me $15 and I was able to hook it up to the saw switch so it comes on when the saw is turned on.
  11. As we get older “like me” light becomes an essential part of my modeling productivity. I added this LED spotlight to the saw. It’s an Easy upgrade.
  12. My iPad is giving trouble this morning. The answer is yes. The only thing is the time it takes the PVA to dry. I thought of using CA with the PVA to speed things up but so far have resisted. .
  13. The answer is yes. It just takes 30 minutes far have resisted.
