    Hi, wondering if you would like to help me with the painting of MIKASA. ? I am really a novice at spraying as I am at doing this, first time of trying a build log, Hope I don’t make a fool of myself. The first part for me to tackle is painting the lower hull. First question, colour and maker of paint, thinking on this for final shade.           ( Model Air ) Vallejo, Marion Rojizo 71.030 Hull Red. And does Model Air indicate the consistency is good to use in air brush straight from the bottle. ?  Would like to jump in the deep end and try shading, have seen this on models at shows and think it looks brill. Looking for technical advice on how to achieve convincing results. I have a model of Arizona for a trial run if you think that advisable, was only ever going to do the lower hull on this anyway. The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
