  1. Hi Mike, Every time when I watch your scratch build log, my desire to make the RS14 model in a bottle becomes more. I look forward to continuations. Best Regards! Igor.
  2. Hi Bob, It is magnificent! I am not sure, but it seems to me that at such design of the deck usually there is the board along the axial line of the deck. What kind of tree you use for the deck? I like to use a light pear because it rather solid and it is possible to make accurate edges of planks. Also it allows to make seams between the planks very thin and accurate. What width of the planks which you use for the deck? Best Regards! Igor.
  3. Hi Matt, I will try to make such photo in next time. But all these fine details aren't fixed on the deck therefore I am not sure. Best Regards! Igor.
  4. Hi Carl, The sizes of model are limited to the sizes of a bottle and in this case the length of model can't be more than 105 mm. Best Regards! Igor.
  5. Hi Jeff, Can you send me this article in Word doc to my email? Best Regards! Igor.
  6. Hi Patrick, Perhaps, you already saw this website - http://america-scoop.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=171&Itemid=282〈=en Best Regards! Igor.
  7. Jeff, perhaps, you meant this article, aren't you? - How to Put a Ship in a Bottle. Making a full-rigged model that folds so as to enter the neck. By E. ARMITAGE McCANN
  8. Hi Jeff, Can you tell in what month 1932 this article was printed? I could find articles by Capt. E. Armitage McCann in magazines for May and June, 1932, but it seems are other articles. Best Regards! Igor.
  9. Yes, Patrick, pencil with a diameter of 0,02 mm... the map 3,5 x 3 mm... Perhaps, really there is no sense to try to do them )) Best Regards! Igor.
  10. Carl, look at this - http://northstarmodels.com/where-to-buy/ The code of this set NSA350066 Best Regards! Igor.
  11. Patrick, In what scale is your yacht? And if to put a sea map and sailing directions on a table? But then perhaps you will want to add a protractor, a ruler and a pencil )) Best Regards! Igor.
  12. Hi Carl, Carl and Matt, A lot of thanks for your words of approval and an appreciation! Carl, I used a steering wheel from the set of the photoetched details. It is deameter 2 mm. Matt, OK, I will try to do a photo of details near a coin. You are familiar with the European coins? Now I can report that diameter of a steering wheel of 2 mm, diameter of the basis of a binnacle of 1,5 mm. Diameter of the binnacle is 1 mm. The total height of a binnacle is 2 mm. Best Regards! Igor.
  13. Hi Matija, Many thanks! I still am not sure that I understand correctly(( But if you and Lawrence mean it, I simply pasted PE ring. Best Regards! Igor.
  14. Hi Patrick, Many thanks for good idea, but the design of the this binnacle is another. I found a photo, but I think that I am not ready to repeat it in my scale. But I like your idea and I think to me it is necessary to visit a casket with jewelry of my wife . Best Regards! Igor.
  15. Hi Lawrence, Thanks for good word! I am sorry, but what port holes you mean? Best Regards! Igor.
  16. Hi Patrick, Many thaks! In general I managed to make a design as I think, but I couldn't execute exact processing of fine details. I am consoled by only fact what it is possible to make out all this only by means of a macro photo (( Best Regards! Igor.
  17. Hi Matt and Lawrence, Many thanks for words of approval of my work! Matt, your model of Hms Bounty Launch is magnificent! These mini tools, these details of the boat... the quality and the care of their production... I am delighted. And, of course, I try to study modes and methods of their production. Lawrence, I will be glad if studying of my building will useful to you, but details of your fishing schooner seem perfectly! Best Regards! Igor.
  18. Yes, Patrick, I tried to find the picture for confirmation of my assumption, but I didn't find it. I hope that you will be more successful. Best Regards! Igor.
  19. Hi Patrick, OK, I will try to explain that I meant. Actually I never visited yachts, but only some big vessels. Therefore all this are only my assumptions. As I understand, on these pictures is figured the internal interior of the cabin which is at the level of the deck: The ladder goes down from the cabin in inside part of hull of the yacht. I saw that in courts all doors and all ladders leading down usually have a high threshold (coaming). The coaming a little interferes with penetration of water into the lower rooms . Besides, in this case any subject which fell to a floor, most likely, will fall down. But it is only my assumptions. Best Regards! Igor.
  20. Hi Patrick, Every time I think that you already showed the higher level, but, it appears that it is followed by other higher level. Maybe round a gash in the deck for a ladder there shall be any small side (something similar to a coaming)? Best Regards! Igor.
