What means "small file"? Is it the file with very small notch? I used Proxxon for production of parts of my anchor winch. But teeths of my files were too rough for this purpose. I didn't try to use my lathe since it is necessary to prepare for it a place yet. But I have not enough time

Hi Frank, Lawrence, Anton, Nils, Carl, Mike, Carl, Nenad, Dimitris, Patrick, David and all and everything who presses the button Like! Many thanks for words of approval and support! As Patrick told (and I agree with him) - Why do we do them? I guess, because if we never tried to do them, we'd be forever wondering if it was possible to make them. I simply try something to make and sometimes it turns out possible to do. I use the glasses and sometimes the magnifying glass - I will show in the evening of a photo. Best Regards! Igor.

Hi Mike, Usually I use the photo-etched details by NorthStarModels - http://northstarmodels.com/ It can be not only steering wheels, but also railings, anchors, chains and another. Best Regards! Igor.

Hi everyone, Many thanks for good words! Today I have made the planking of the lower part of the hull and prepared parts for desk houses.I too late thought that it is possible not to do the planking of the lower part since I am going to try to make the sea in a bottle. Below you can see photos of today's work. Best Regards! Ighor.

Small progress for the end of day. I have made planking of the both sides of the top part of the hull. Best Regards! Igor.

Hi Patrick, I think these small details are almost imperceptible, but they demand a lot of work and give a special reason for pleasure. It is perfectly made! Best Regards! Igor.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
