Yeah, but the kit-designers all go the other way: more 1:48 and 1:64 scale.
Beautifully designed models, but won;t fit my bench (Nor living-room)

I entered the next stage: I need reading glasses, and I need additional magnification.  And my nose is too small for two glasses to fit.
My magnifier (up to x5) does not go together with my reading glasses .

It was nice again and my little one with the black and yellow stripes really enjoyed the trip 🙂

As every 2 years there was a big meeting in Augsburg, around 70 modellers, some with their partners, met, chatted with each other, had a nice evening together and many even had a great Sunday breakfast together.

Here are a few pictures of my little one with her accessories.

I was also able to take part in and witness a Guinness of World Record attempt: Matthias registered his ship in a bottle as the largest free-hanging ship in a bottle. Now we're just waiting for the certification 🙂

Well then, a nice greeting from both of us, DAniel and Vicky

My favorit side launch on you tube:
You can find lots more, many clickbaited by a  ‘went horribly wrong’-title, but actually this is quite standard at some larger inland builders: no space to do it ‘stern first’.

I don't know whether or not MSW has a 'model of the year'-competition, bus as far as I'm concerned, this one is a very, very serious contender.
What a very convincing model this has become: camo, al the dirt and rust, the sea, the depth-marks, the deck-personnel, the antennae. I can look for some time at these pics and see something new every time.

    Hi Bob,

Although I admire your knowledge and your equipment (guess you also use it for models, bur couldn’t find anything of that work here at msw), I wonder whether you make things more difficult than necessary: you can draw ideal lines, but I guess (never tried myself) that slightly less ideal would also work. The final fairing is done when frames are set up in the model so the use of a simple pencil and ruler and a basic set of curves should do for a beginner.

I have even seen an admiralty type of model without lofting, using just station lines. Also Mccaffery uses such a method for his small-scale models: he cleverly builds up a layered block, and shapes it as if it were a solid hull modell. Requires some thinking and preparation, but it works without any curves or dawing let alone drafting.
