I think it looks quite nice. For stitching perhaps printing the stitching lines on the paper, before gluing the panels? Obveously not on this finished sail, but on your next one.

    Hello friends of model making,
thanks for the interest, especially thanks to Carl for
    the last nice comment.
At the moment my job takes me a lot.
Therefore, there is little time for the hobby.
In that respect, I can only show a little.
The iron fittings of the blocks for the backstays I have as etched parts
    commissioned.

Other fittings are for the double blocks for the boat davits.

These blocks are equipped with hooks.
For this my first attempt. This is not optimal yet.

For some time he was not engaged in the construction of the model, because it is impossible to remain indifferent when people die in the fire, small children... There are no more words, only work helps to distract a little from this tragedy. I wish everyone good health!!!

Hello gentlemen and thank you !

Contrary to what I said, I did not go back to working on La Renommée but I continued on the plate ...

I was not entirely satisfied : the drawing seemed a little bland, banal in its design. So I decided to redo with a more worked drawing, but the problem is that it complicates a lot of cutting ! Even judge yourself :

After studying the feasibility, I relaunched. I will not explain again : I did as the previous time. I simply tape the ebony plate and pear to tape to protect the wood because the cuts will be very "delicate" for some. I took about sixteen hours to cut everything, but I broke less blades: only ten. Here are all my little pieces :

And here are the two plates that I will be able to exploit (the ebony plate will not be) :

A view a little closer where you can see that in places the cuts are at most what I can do :

Finally, after five to six hours of assembly and sanding, the final result on the pear plate :

I find it much better than the previous one and it's her that I'll keep for the showcase ... in 20 years ! (Is not it Chris !)

Will remain to make a small brass frame, but it will be for later, when I know how to braze ...

    See you later !

    Patrick

    Good morning to all.
I understand and accept perfectly that the language to be expressed is English. When I started in this forum, I did it in Spanish for lack of knowledge, so I apologize.
This model of naval modeling is very personal. Everyone works with their tools and with an idea of what they want to achieve. What I do with a manual tool, someone can do the same with a strawberry.
I have learned a lot in a visual way, seeing the great results that other modelers get, and I have tried to achieve the same with my way and way of understanding all this.
That is why I do not give as much importance to what I have done, but to the final result, because if I have done it, anyone can do it.
The only thing that seems important to me is that in each piece that is being worked on, the level of demand is maximum regardless of the time or the work necessary to achieve it.
All this, Google has translated, so I do not become sponsable of the result of the translation

    Thank you guys.
After a short break I started to sewing the sails. I managed to get a nice soft batiste with a slight beige touch, so I did not have to work with a dye. At this moment, I have sewn all the sails on which "only" is left to add different reinforcement and reef bands, add a bolt rope and fasten the reef points. And then, of course, bending the sails to the yards - that´s enough work.
