Thank you all I used Vallejo paint hull red for lower hull I thinned it a little more to get The effect I wanted it came out vary well as for the water line it is right for ut scale i looked at a lot pic it came out looking great thank you For all your comments so far as really help me out . What I have done now I got the props painted in gold to create the color and the shafts are now install so this ship is looking great her are some pic

The lower hull paint was a common industrial anti corrosion coating used on all sorts of architectural steel and ironwork. We in the UK called it 'Red Lead'. As the name implies, it was lead based; modern health and safety deems this to be toxic, so it isn't used these days. No doubt the lead content didn't encourage marine growth.

Its RN anti fouling Red - its supposed to be almost like a mix between flat Red and Brick Red.

Per, the boot line in real life would have been about 8 feet wide on Battleships of that tonnage.

The 'Boot Topping' looks fine to me. The 'Read Lead' shade is also very convincing, though in real life it would look a bit redder when first applied but would oxidise to a shade like yours.

Nice paint job, but I have a question regarding the waterline,
with the scale you are working with, the waterline seems very wide to me - is that a camera angle creating this illusion or is the waterline that wide in real?

This is the airbrush I will be using for my ships the is the iwata hp-th2 valt with .06 needle this works great

Rjl thay look just fine to me As long as everything lines up on the decks when they're glued down that's a good thing

hello rgl welcome to my build yes the decks sit flush test fitted the decks two times so it all good there
