  1. A superb build. However surely the top one or two rows of copper plating should be full width, running parallel to the waterline, and only tapered in below this? Mike
  2. Planking going well, but I would not have stopped all the planks at the one frame, but would have overlapped them with each adjacent plank finishing at a different frame to its partner. Happy modelling, Mike
  3. Beautifully done. I usually mount my finished boats/ships in a case over a mirror on pedestals in order to show off the under water lines. Mike
  4. I have often thought of doing Alert in this scale. I have found clinker planking easier than carvel: no need for stealers fore and aft! I shall look forward to this build. Mike
  5. Very nicely done. The ensign is incorrect. The pre-1801 ensign lacked the cross of St Patrick (see http://www.mrflag.com/p/4764/UK_Red_Ensign_Pre_1801__Budget_.html). Good luck, Mike
