  1. Hey Chuck, on fore can’t frame #10, it looks like the lower chock joint doesn’t match the run of the others?
  2. That is a very clever way to construct the Cant frames Chuck! Very clever indeed.
  3. Chris - Id be interested to know what contemporary source you had for adding the “extra” two forward gunports on the Quarterdeck - as I have not come across it.
  4. Some progress The taffrail capping pieces on both sides were completed and then I started work on the Quarter Piece blanks - fitting to the hull shape takes time - the extra meat left on these is for the relief carvings that will be added to them - the one you see in the picture is the 4th test piece and I’m sure there will be more!
  5. Hopefully David will agree to complete the rest of the carvings for the model.
  6. While trying to make the Quarter piece blanks, I deamed it a good idea to mark out where the Quarter badges would be so there would be no interference between them, so here is the beautiful QB that I commissioned from David Antscherl.
  7. Very nice start to the deck planking, much easier now after that central section is completed.
  8. Congrats on the completion of your model.
  9. Yes Allan - They will get rounded above deck line.
  10. Making the main hatch gratings as per TFFM, wow - when you make these at actual scale thickness they are very thin, flimsy and easy to break. I haven’t decided if I will stain the comings black or leave natural pear.
  11. Thanks Greg, yes it is nice sometimes to jump between them, I have not yet decided if I’m rigging Pegasus but leaning slightly towards it! I am definitely not rigging the Winnie.
  12. Well done! It appears you nailed getting all the QG angles correct and parallel to each other.
  13. Main mast partner cross chocks have been made along with the mizzenmast partner and Capstan step. Now I have started with the main hatchway coming - it’s aft side has been carefully notched to accept the cross chock so it spans across the beam halfway.
  14. Excellent Progress Chuck, the upright framing technique you have developed for Speedwell is really superb - I look forward to see how you do the cant frames and the Bollard Timbers!
  15. JJ - I personally actually find it better to have two builds! When I get annoyed or distracted with one I work on the other one for a bit.
