    Hello Ben,

    Thank you,

I did use the Model Expo paints, and I have mixed feelings about them.  I'm not incredibly happy with the finish, yet it does look smoother to the naked eye than on camera.  I typically use Vallejo paints, which are much thinner to begin with than the ME paints, that being said I did use some water just not nearly enough.  As I go through the masting and rigging I will be trying smooth it out a little, but not with too much contrast in finish to the hull.

I have to say, there are some great paint jobs here on modelshipworld with mirror finishes, but I am going to need another 20 years or so to gain the patience to accomplish that.

Sweet work there Andy, ahhh the joys of rigging, I'm sure you will do a first rate job like the rest of the build. Just keep posting photos for Sjors to keep him sane.

Hi, I will also follow your longboat build, I stop and start on mine every now and then when I get time, I have just stepped the mast and bowsprit, rigging next :-).
You can find my log as well as a couple if others on the site. Make sure to look at Chucks.

These things are bound to happen when you have a lot of rigging to do, love the fix!
I think I have made more mistakes on the Confeds stern than you have made on your entire rigging :-)

Here is planking completed and stained, one pic shows the stem head glued back on after I carelessly
broke it off, and the treenailing which was done using elmers natural wood filler.

    Hi,

I will take some pics of the other castings and post them, If I remember right they were not
as bad as the figurehead ( absolute crap ), but nowhere near as nice as the resin ones that Chuck did - wish he
would make some more ( pretty please )  .

    Hey Chuck,

Don't forget from MSW1.0 that I was among the first to express interest in building the Winnie along with Rusty, but I'd really like an autographed copy.

Damn Remco, how the hell do you make such beautiful blocks, it's insane what you are capable of.
One day in the far future I would love to be able to even scratch the surface of what you achieve every day.

Here we go again with the sabre rattling.  I am not going to be a party to starting 'The War' again.

But, if necessary, I shall be a part of finishing it!

Welcome back. We have a lot of work to do. Fortunately I have all the Naiad posts saved as Word files and all the associated images, so I will be putting up the entire 176 parts as soon as I can. The model is approaching completion, so I do not expect more perhaps 10-12 new posts, but there has been enough interest in the old posts to make the effort worthwhile. We will all need to be showing a lot of patience for awhile.

I will also opening a topic in the book section for "The Naiad Frigate - Volume I. There are some content updates I want to share there.

I will also be reposting the 1:96 Victory Build log, but that will be taking a back seat to Naiad for awahile.

    Cheers,

    Ed

With the re-starting of the MSW site on 2/15/2013, it has become necessary to re-construct this build log.  I have most of the photos but, of course, lack the narrative.

I plan to post the past progress in sections that make sense.  It will take a while but I'll do my best.
