    Hello
Albert, thank you and all others also for your likes
After I cut out the oar ports, the ship looks really different. More like an ocean liner, or a space ship. 😀

Today I started with the production of the port lids. After doing some Photoshop work and test lids. 😐 But now, I think it works.

The battle field in the winter garden, and the results. Half the lids are done.
After finishing the battens under the gun wale, I thought is that now masochism? This is in my opinion not far away from it. 😏

The main pendant tackles are completed and started rigging the fore lanyards, trying to rig these correctly using a throat seizing is fiddly to say the least, I think they look okay. I'll only do a few per side before moving on to the main shrouds so I can then set the lower main stay in place before finishing up the fore lanyards. Thanks for looking.

    Preparation of the cannon deck.

Since there is no grating in the deck above, there is little or no visible interior of this deck. The intention is to make the carriages of the cannons as simple as possible. And only add the (half) cannon barrels later.
The first attempt failed, fortunately no photos.
The second attempt was with wooden blocks. Reasonably good, but too visible when the sunlight shines on them.

The third attempt has now reduced the size of these blocks and painted them completely black. This will be the method used for the bronze cannons.

    Wit wooden block

adjusted wooden block an final methode

Hello all, I'm new here too.  Just received the 1:100 Heller Victory set for my birthday, rather surprisingly.  This of course has the huge advantage of being the perfect excuse if my wife thinks I'm spending too much time modelling 😀

I did do some N-scale railway modelling twenty years ago, but otherwise not a great deal since childhood.

There seems to be a pretty large rabbit-hole dug by Dafi and others that I'm exploring, and I'm waiting for delivery of all sorts of tools and bits and pieces because my stash is all over 20 years old and spread around various boxes by house moving etc.  The expectation is that this is likely to take a number of years, as I'm not going to be building it "straight from the box" but will be aiming for something about half-way between a box build and what better modellers have achieved.  And I have a family to look after not to mention many other projects on the go.

While I'm waiting for parts I've been having an initial play with 3d printing, trying to develop appropriate blocks for a start.  Please excuse the crummy string from the box but I guess it has its uses even though it's oversize.  It's probably about 7" circumference scale so shouldn't be what's around a 9" block (0.6mm in 3mm block).  But as a sailor I am keen to attempt to get the look of the rigging and splicing better over time.  I don't sail traditional boats but have been watching things like the rebuild of Tally Ho online and that kind of thing has always appealed.

Would love to hear from anyone either locally, or building the same kit, or to share hints and files for 3d printing, or any other reason I guess...

I bought a model of Aichi E13 planes. It printed out just fine.  Details were added. At this stage the model is 98% complete one step before adding oil washes and rust effects

Glad you like it thus far Kirill, good to hear from you. A few different phases going on in this update, glued in the main lower mast, turned a new main lower course yard, this measures out at 187.7mm, 103'-6" at scale, fabricated the parrel, the pendants of tackle are .40mm line served with 3mm single blocks and the falls are taken to the main deck close to the bulwarks using 2.5mm double and single blocks and finally rigged up the parrel rope and tackle using a 2mm double and single block, that's it for this retina straining update and thanks for looking.

Ratlines DONE!.  My My that was tedious.  Took several months, mainly because I just could not bring myself to do it.  But the edge of starting a new ship motivates me to finish this one first. 1250 clove knots later... completed.

Saw several approaches to the ratlines.  For me, it was the simplest: a) tweeter and scissor, of course. b) a popsicle stick to adjust spacing as I go, c) a level to parallel to the water, and finally d) patience, a lot of it.  This allowed me to easily reach behind to make the clove knots.

Next step, more rigging and the sails.  They were already made a few months ago.
