    Mainmast done up for paint, still can separate it into 3 pieces

    I saw some fighting last night but they **** through before I could get a photo! mainmast done, foremast is absolute pain to align. Bluetack and glue finally got me there

    Back to the ship, mainmast made up

    It does not seem much, but the bridge structure, lots of clean up needed on the supports, wood deck down with a clear coat and masked for later painting. My plan is to pretty much have every structure painted before adding to the hull. When I did it the first time I paid no where near as much attention so this time it will work better I hope. 2 days work !

    Boat deck continues, range finder, flag lockers, Radio cage, admirals walk and radio room

    So 2 days later, I’ve done up the funnels, they have pulleys and ropes that go on them as well but I’ll add them after I’ve painted them.

    Slowly slowly. Micromaster doors, eyebrows, ringols. You have to be wearing an optivisor to see the details

    So I finally found (from EBay of course) a set of ringols from Alliance Modelworks (I think they’ve shut these days). Each PE set has portholes as a ring but that’s not how they were. You can hardly see them from a distance but has to be done.

    So the first of the 3D pieces arrived today, coal scuttles, hatches, propellers, anchors, doors

    Primer coats, built up some panels. Next is marking out the holes for scuppers, eyelets for the torpedo booms, rigging points, side booms. Nice to be back on an over complicated warship !

    So generously sent to the other end of the globe by @Egilman, the final 2 of the 1975 production runs of the AMX-13 has arrived ! You rock mate!

    I got it at a very good price. I won’t build it for a while mind you. It’s won’t be a difficult build but a great weathering challenge

    Might have bought another ship….(or a boat really)

    Yes it’s on Utube but mixed up with Clayton Ockerby.

    There was a lot of people there, 700 plus models

    Well I got best ship (for my Borodino) first for my Panhard and a commended for Artillery (I think)

    So day 1, subs and ships, over 700 models in total registered.

    Local model show on this weekend, 3 ships, 2 subs, a MaK, a FW-190, a couple of dio’s, an artillery train and a wheeled AFV.

    And it starts, 320 port holes drilled out….

    So along with the Anatomy of the ship book I’ll use the old model as reference!

    When I first built Dreadnought I did not own an airbrush and used rattle cans and paintbrushes. I was really happy with the build at the time and it’s time to redo her in a different way. hopefully better.
