@FlyingFish…and there would also be a wheel in the “wheelhouse”?
BTW - the detail on the Orca is absolutely amazing.

My next question regards the structure(?) on the wheelhouse roof.as shown below:
These plans are based upon a fictional lobster boat from the comic strip "Non Sequitur" by Wiley Miller. In the images below there is a shop's wheel up there. Is this correct or is it artistic license?
(I hope I'm not breaking any copyright rules here)

I want to convert my post "Fishing Boat kit from German company" to a build log under scratch-built

Can I move or copy a thread (that I started) from one forum to another?

Thanks Bob.
Odd thing is I took and uploaded the previous images using the iPhone. I’ll convert them to jpg after dinner and reupload

Did I upload too many images to show in the post?

Progress over the weekend - bulkheads/framing in place. Probably time to move to a real build log.

Thanks for the kind words Roger. I’ll continue to take pictures and if things go well, I will put together a build log.

Decided to try scratch building the “Captain Eddy” from the plans seen in this topic thread. Got the keel and the bulkheads drawn at 1:48th scale and have started cutting out the pieces from bass wood.

I logged in and the links to the last pics disappeared. I can look to see if I still have them on an old iPad.

When I finally built this I soaked the wood in isopropyl alcohol and taped them to a form. Worked very well, especially on the ribs.

What did you use to simulate the tree nails?

My attempt at a ship's wheel for the flying bridge. Made with an O-ring, some straight pins and some beads for the handles. It's 3' in diameter from tip of handle to tip of opposite handle at 1:48th scale. My old hands don't have the dexterity to go much smaller.
