    Good Evening
Today I worked on a few items I had a productive day in the the shipyard. I got the forward stairs done, also finished planking the inside of the gun deck . I built and installed the cap for the forward stairs. Here is how she’s looking
Hope you like her and thanks for looking in.

Today I worked on planking the gun deck . I used the same technique. That I used on all the other planking . Cutting my strips a bit larger than needed with a razor knife, then clamp them all together  and sand them down until they reach the desired size and they are uniform . I then burned the edges to simulate the caulking .
i them proceeded to glue them down . Once the glue cured I did my tree nailing . I also got another gun port installed , I would have gotten both installed but I broke one of my assembled gun piers and had to make another.

Another busy week , I looked forward for today , I knew The admiral and I had no plans for the day so I spent all day in the shipyard . It helps me to forget about the prior weeks stress .

Today I did final sanding of the gun deck and built the frame work for the gun ports. I cut thin pieces of blood wood to use on the sides to connect the gun port sills and lintels .

after i I got them all built I started to install them

i laid some of the outside planking down and set a cannon to see how it fit .

i liked the the fit so I glued two of them in on the side getting the planking and then I finished the outside planking around the gun ports.

i hope you you like my progress, and thanks for looking in .

Chuck's products will add a lot to your build. I did use the kit rope in a couple of places, mostly for long runs right at the mast. Inside a lot of the other rigging. The MS deadeyes were not bad. I would suggest using them as long as the 3 holes look pretty even. You'll likely paint those anyway.

I'll wager you really like the looks of your gun tackles with the rope & blocks. I felt like that was the best detail on my build.

My only suggestion to you is when you begin to use them keep close tabs on how many you are about to use and how many that will leave you. There's nothing worse than being a few short and having to wait for another order. Inventory control!

    Have fun Tom.....

You are going to love using Chuck's rope. It is the best rope I've ever seen.

I make the brackets from 2x2mm brass. I make first a paper template directly signed off the model and ply the brass rods with the help of pliers. When I have all the parts, I solder them following the shape on the paper template.

    Hi Derek,

I cut the blade with a Dremel rotary saw and when needed I finish it of with a file. The blade is not a razor blade but a piece of a cutter blade. I think that a razor blade would fracture while scraping oak.
