that's where I am John........if I'm not at the table for any length of time,  the admiral starts asking questions.  I'm looking forward to the day, when she would have to pry me away from it again      it used to bug the heck out of her.......but I guess I'm seeing the other end of the spectrum.

I don't know about that Ed........I think doing something like that would put me too far over the edge.    best to leave my thoughts.......'scaled down'

Hi John - Jim's right, have been a bit distracted  .  Just a very busy time of year with family sports activities.  Any time that I have had in the shipyard I've been trying to get a head start on the new build (HMS Jason) so I could take advantage of good weather outside for sanding on the hull planking.  That plan didn't work too well as I had a few issues with the kit which needed replacement and took longer to figure out what I wanted and how I was going to approach the build.  I'll be back to hopefully finish up Snake over the winter.

    John,

Thanks for taking time to do the research. I'll keep it the way it is and see how it looks painted.

    Hi John and Augie,

Oooooops, I obviously did not see that error...lol, but its corrected now. That's a good idea on using sandpaper. I'll give it a try. Bulky is a good description for the fashion piece, but it's pretty close to the print, I'll re-measure to make sure. Thanks for looking in and for the advice.

Well, as I mentioned the shipyard has been reopened, however, with my other obligations it took a little longer to just get started. Drives me nuts. I can get all the components out and try to start, and something comes up that needs my attention...like now!, so I did get the anchors re-made. This was where I needed to start. I made the stocks by turning them on my trusty Proxxon DB-250 Wood Lathe. That is probably my favorite tool in the line. Then blackened the anchors, stained to wood and added the blackened brass rings on the stocks. They are now ready to hung on the ship and properly secured. First, of I hope many new updates.

Good Day Mate's. Today I am opening the shipyard again. I got the tools out, dusted her off and documented whre I'm at to get this thing rolling again. First thing I'll takle will be to replace the anchors. The one's I had were black Britttania and they should be wood. So I've dusted off the Proxxon DB 250 Wood Lathe, and tomorrrow will get them turned, stained and hung on the ship. I have the black metal ones there temorarily as seen in the pictures. From here, then it will be to build the Foremast.

First, the pictures of where I'm starting from:

The breech rings look very good Augie, I'll keep that in mind next time I do cannons. Chuck's cannons would really be hard to beat, what a great upgrade, he does such awesome work.
