this is a 1/2" - 1'0" scale model.....in the Collections & Research building.  All of the others are in a vault with large steel sliding doors and just stacked up in rows and available only for research and not open to the general public without an appointment and an escort.

I forgot to mention that I have some pictures of the Mayflower II, in Plymouth if anyone should need some. Here's a teaser, and if more are needed let me know.

Hello Sjors, well, today we got to meet one of your fellow Dutchmen....and his lovely Admiral.  We met with Piet and Gwen, and bent an elbow of fine Belgium Ale and exchanged sea stories...(or air stories in Piet's case).  Had a wonderful time and learned a lot of WWII history.  His story is remarkable.   His 0-19 is truly a work of art and I feel honored to have been able to see it and understand it's story.  Quite an expierience and only through MSW could this have been possible.  Once again the power of this Forum shines through.

Interesting about Roosevelt. You might consult with Henry .... Popeye2sea on this forum. He is one of the 1812 Marine Association, which enacts battles, and preserves the history of the Marines on board the Constitution. He is a historian, and might be able to give you some insite to this.

Well, today was another of those remarkable days due to the MSW Forum. We are in St. Augustine, Florida, and met with Piet and his lovely Admiral Gwen. We got to see his ship, as well as his 0-19 submarine and hear his amazing stories of surviving WWII. For anyone who doesn't know of him, you need to check out his Dutch Submarine O-19 and read the history behind it. His father served on her and that is just the beginning of the story. He recounts parts of the war that most people either don't know or have tried to forget. As a child POW in a Japanese concentration camp he is blessed to be alive and have survived it. An amazing gentleman, that I feel honored to have been able to meet and bend an elbow of fine Belgium Ale, and see and hear his amazing stories. Once again, the power of this Forum, has brought together people who otherwise would never have a reason to have crossed paths. Unfortunately, we got so engulfed in conversation, I forgot to get my camera out and take pictures.....sorry Sjors,

Hello Sjors, for me reading these passages helps our healing, Isaiah 53:4-5;, and Mathew 8:16.  I hope this helps you. Believe.  And also some pictures for you of Lake George, New York.  We are here today, and I thought you would like to see the boat we will go on tomorrow.....the Minnie Ha Ha, which is an American Indian phrase and name.  This lake has 1,000 islands and is beautiful, it is in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.  Take care my friend, and get well.  We shall be praying for your quick recovery.  The last picture is for when you get well.....Ben & Jerry Ice Cream Banana Split with New York Super Chocolat Fudge, Butter Pecan and Strawberry Ice Cream, whipped cream and chocolat fudge.  I am sorry you cannot get this to enjoy in The Netherlands, but perhaps if you visit the US someday you can enjoy one of life's great perks.

Ah, very good Sjors, now I get the picture.  Just as you did, I got to meet another of our members today.  We met Dave (lambsk) and his Admiral Fran for lunch in Charleston, South Carolina today.  Amazing how the forum can bring people together whose paths probably would have no reason to cross otherwise.  Absolutely amazing.  Thanks for the pictures

Ok, hatch grate mistake has been fixed, cannonballs have been installed and I've got the companionway walls glued together. But mainly I've been able to rig my first carronade.
Here's some pics and I need a little feedback on how they look before I glue the tackle and make the coils. I read a post by dirk on breeching rings on carronades and after a little reasearch I decided to go ahead and add the breech rings."They really are there, just a little hard to see them in the photos.

Any thoughts?? First time rigging so I'm kinda tiptoeing thru this.
