Thanks, yes I bought a used issue form Amazon UK... but unfortunately it was shipped from US and took a very long time to get. I also had to pay extra because of coming from the outside of EU. My AOTS Diana was much easier and cheaper to get. I Think I will try to get the Bellona issue at one point as well.

Unfortunately, the inner bulwark patterns didnt fully match up with outer gunport patterns, so i cut them into several pieces before glueing them in place. I hope this works.

Taking a break from the coppering of my Snake and doing some details on my Granado. This was not easy.. made a jig but still very tricky to get everything in place.

If you want to do a very detailed and high quality model, my number one tip is to buy alot of sandpaper and really use it everywhere on every piece on every side and make sure perfect fits.

Considering its your first model, I wouldnt get stuck on extra details like that. Just follow the instructions and put the bulkheads into the frams and start the first layer of planking. You will learn as you go along and when you do your next kit you can start trying to raise the level of quality.

I hope Chris dont mind me reposting one of his photos of the construction of the Amati Victory. In comparison with the 20 year old HMS Diana kit, just look how he have reinvented kitdesign. Yes I agree fully that the cutting out gunports are one of the tasks that would really benefit from being simplified.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
