Thanks John.
I've fitted the rails around the main funnel (anyone know what they are really called, and what they do?) These were a bit of a pain to fit, but they got a bit easier as I gained some experience. The holes for their legs are a tiny 0.2mm, so you can imagine how fragile these things are .
A lesson learned here - never assume that the legs of the PE rails will fit the marked positions of the kit pieces, even if the same manufacturer makes both (I used PE from Tom's Model Works). They DON'T, especially on a round piece. I'll have about 50 little holes to re-fill .

Many thanks to Gerhard, Druxey, Kevin, Ian, Steve and Don,
all the positive response to this completed build is very encouraging to me and making my day...
Gerhard,
its a pleasure sharing with fellow builders, thanks to all that followed...
Druxey,
all suggestions are welcome, the making of the flags I know should have been a bit better. Thanks for the reminder, I`ll try to iron down a copied tranferfoil (with ink jet printer) to a fine weaved handkerchief fibre. Was just too "lazy" to try it out at this small scale, but it worked well on the 1:64 ensign flag of my "HMS Pegasus"
Kevin,
you are always welcome aboard...
Ian,
thanks for your nice words...
Steve,
I`m glad you liked the building journey...
Don,
many thanks for your appreciative words

Mirabell61 reacted to Moxis in My humble method of making strops for blocks
There has been recently many methods shown to make strops around small blocks. When rigging the guns for my Le Cerf I needed a big number of small 3 mm double blocks. For making strops around these I made this simple fixture, which fullfilled it`s task quite reasonably.
First a simple construction was made of a piece of scrap wood and 2 mm plywood. Small pieces of 1 mm and 0,6 mm iron wire were glued into the bottom of the jig, and grooves were sawn with jeweler`s saw into the plywood walls:
Pieces of 0,15 mm thread were put into the first grooves, and blocks were positioned to the jig so that the 0,6 mm wire was put through one hole of the block:
Then small pieces of 0,6 mm rigging thread were placed into the second grooves:
And then it was rotated around the block and then around the 1 mm iron wire:
And now it remained only to make a small knot between the block and the 1 mm loop using the thinner thread, and attach small blops of diluted PVA glue into both ends of the block. After the glue had dried, ends of threads were cut as near as possible of the block.....
..... and blocks were ready......
......and used for rigging the guns:

Congratulations on the completion on your opus magnum, Nils! That is a very nicely well-populated model. One tiny suggestion, if I may: drape the flags in a natural way rather than have them stick out stiffly. But she looks magnificent. Well done!

Good Evening All. Thanks for all the visits, comments and likes it is all really appreciated.
This post is about the final stages of the ship's boat, I won't bother you with a bunch of chatter and explanations, however, if you have any questions please ask. I will be happy to answer, even though it maybe just made up.
Here we go:
There are a few flaws but as they say "she is good enough for me and the girls I go with".
Next up is the bowsprit
See You soon

It was brought to my attention by a good friend of mine, Zoran, that I did the rigging on the rudder a little wrong. I went back to the plans and sure enough what I have done is not the same as what is shown
As you can see the plans show only a rope on the port side tied to the rudder and on mine I have blocking on both sides. Now I know my way is wrong and not historically correct, however, I'm thinking in real life this rudder is almost 17 feet long, 4 feet at it's widest point and 6 inches thick. Given these dimensions this rudder would have weighed a ton (figure of speech) and raising it in shallow waters would have been some feat of strength. I'm thinking why not give this crew all the advantage possible and let them have a four block system Or should it be done the right way? Given the temperature today and this problem I am considering a trip to the refreshment fridge. Please help, or better yet come over for a cool one

Update, boats
most of the boats will be closed and with canvas protection cover, this is my intention....
If it works out I will try to dome some with rolled back canvas, so the seatings can be seen. The prototype for the closed boat is shown in the pics. This will be the master model I take a mould from so to cast the other boats in resin (if it works that way...)
A fender rope is put around the side of the sheer, I hope it will form-off well in the silicone mould
The boats are 60 mm long, and in scale 1:144, two boats are a bit shorter, and the last 3 boats on each side (three story packed ought to be foldable ones)
