  1. If you are ever in the St Michaels, Maryland area I would recommend a visit to the CBMM (cbmm.org). There are loads of Chesapeake water craft from Bugeyes to log canoes to examine. There also are several interactive areas that entertained our 11 year old granddaughter.
  2. I may as well confess. I managed to reverse the forward and aft directions on the first subassembly. By the time i got to step 7 or so things wouldn’t fit and I discovered the problem. I then tried to disassemble what i had done with disastrous consequences. Progress will resume when my replacement kit arrives. With 2 kits i expect I will have many parts left over. So in the future if one of you out there needs a replacement part for the Jolle, let me know and i might have it. Unless i make many more terrible mistakes. Read and read and read and check and double check and check again. My 80 year old brain does have a tendency to get confused easily. 😖
  3. Sub assemblies and the main set of frames ready to be glued. I am sanding the bevels after the frames are glued in place.
  4. I found this little sanding block at Walmart. It is great for sanding the frames on my Jolle.
  5. Reading your build log encouraged me to purchase this kit. And I definitely plan to purchase quality rigging line.
  6. I have been wanting to try one of Master Korabel’s kits after reading about them on this site. I finally purchase the small gun boat and added the pre made sails. I am very impressed with the quality of the kit and the detailed instructions. The English is a bit strange but that is probably because it was translated from Russian; or maybe just written be a non native English speaker. Anyway, they are very clear, detailed and precise. The instructions seem to anticipate where one might go wrong and caution you. The picture shows the box contents and the first sub-assembly before gluing.
  7. Very impressive stick and tissue build!
  8. Ahhh. that's my problem, having past 80 years
  9. Thanks. It was a fun change of pace. But the tiny details were frustrating at times.
  10. My Porsche is finished, except some decals will need a bit more setting solution. There are a lot of compound curves on the body. So nice to have a project done in days, not months and years!
  11. I continue to add photoetched details. The hood (trunk) lift handle is somewhere in an other dimension. Oh well. One of the wipers took a brief visit there but returned 😁I snipped parts free of the sprues inside a plastic bag. That traps them on earth. But those tweezers have a way of shooting parts to where no man has gone before.
  12. Adding details to the outside. They are tiny! The car is just 3.5 inches long. The headlights for example are 3 separate pieces
  13. Started working on the interior today. It is not as difficult as I expected, but i did lose one on the tiny bezels on the dash. I doubt that they are even visible once the body is on.
  14. I purchased this kit from Model Expo because it was on sale and I wanted to reduce the impact of spending more on postage then the package of rigging line that I needed. Now that the Morgan is done, I thought I’d give it a shot. I took the photo after I painted the resin castings. The only instructions are the sheet showing the outside of the car. I still haven’t figure out where all the photo etched details go. I ask Arena Modelli for help here but haven’t heard back. I didn’t realize how tiny 1/43 scale would be! This will be a challenge with my cataracts.
  15. Thank you. The kit was a challenge.
  16. She is finished. The kit had some flame decals and some sponsors stuff but i think i like the clean look.
  17. All the whale boats are rigged. Just need to add anchors and the staging platform. And maybe some oars for the boats.
  18. A coat of primer to see where i need to touch up the plastic filler.
  19. I googled river barge "city of pekin" and looked at images. there are some copies of the plan sheet that might be enough for you to work with. I'd be happy to take measurements off of my model as you need them
  20. I would send them to you at no charge if I had them. We downsized 2 years ago and the old plans for many models went into the trash. So sorry. I found the kit on eBay for a very reasonable price, so perhaps you can find one and get the fittings also. Ron
