I just checked the link and it is up to $88.95 + shipping--total would be over $100.  Hobby World USA has it for $64.99 +$13 shipping

There are some tiny pieces in this model! I have to cut out and attach 16 of these little buggers around the funnels.

Coming along quite nicely. A very interesting looking ship.  It is nice to have a change from fully rigged ships, nicht wahr.

Turned out that the scale was too small to use the bandage stuff. I just wrapped some thread around the stay and made a reasonable approximation. Good enough for my old eyes anyway.

Unboxing the package, here are the pieces. First impression is the very high quality MDF and precision.

There were also nails included in the package but I did not find a use for them. Maybe they are meant for enforcing some of the assemblies in addition to glue, but there is no mention of where to use them in the instructions.

EDIT: In the last photo of this post, note that the piece has been fixed with double screws per side. This is a temporary action I took just in order to maintain the right angles correctly until the glue has dried. While in use there will be oce screw per side (you can see from the final view photos)

Finally ready. Technical specs (from the manufacturer's website):
    Technical data:
    - Base size: 100cm x 25cm

    - Maximal length of keel: 100cm

    - Maximal thickness of keel: 7mm

    - Possibility of turning the kit in 360 degrees. Which allows of other work to be done like for example planking.

    - Ruler with 1mm scale allows for ideal setting of elements.

Thanks ragrove - next time I have her off the jig I'll snap some pics.
Thanks Hamilton - I try to keep it fun, mainly by not thinking about the magnitude of this undertaking.
I've got a few pics here...
I'm gonna do the main deck first.  Gluing down - nobody breath . . .

As I mentioned I'm going to do the bulwarks in solid brass, simulating the 5' by 15' iron plates.  Don't quite know how to cut them out yet.
I've seen cross section drawings of the bulwarks where there is the bulwark itself, attached at the lower edge to an iron sheer strake.  I thought I'd just extend the brass down below the top of the timber strakes and attach the brass to the bulkheads.  I need help on how to treat the transition from the main deck bulwark, forward to the sides of the fore deck, and aft around the poop.  Pictures of the iron work in these areas would be nice.
    m
Building some of the deck furniture so that I can miter around their base.  The aft deck house still needs some trim paint.

Still need to glue down the fore deck.  In spite of my efforts. it is still trying to curl up like a potato chip.  I need to figure out what the aft edge of the deck attaches to.
I think the main rail is supposed to run from the top of the lower bulwark, straight onto the fore deck and poop deck (??).

Impressive work. I will have to pay attention and perhaps learn something. My plastic models never come out well.

It has taken a while to figure out all the pieces for the funnels.  i think I've got it.  Some touch-up paint needed I see.
