Okay, So more guns ports made up and fastened and deck railing on the second deck done. The bow has received its ornamentation timbers,
All the deck grating is completed and the ships boats chocks are in place.
Cannons are are assembled and placed on the deck. I rigged these cannons the best I could with just a breach rope. I had a go at rigging the blocks and all, But with disastrous results. Also at this stage the rudder was fabricated and installed.

Such clean work!
Thank you very much.
I'm very pedantic about clean builds and the way I build models.
After each session I clear away all my tools and rubbish. Have everything neat and tidy.
You may notice in a few of my posts I'll have the table clean, cutting mat square to the edge of the table and pencils and rulers perfectly lined up. It makes me a little depressed when I have stuff all over the place. Haha.
I'll let you in on a little trick. - Take a photo of your build. Examine the photo. I bet you will find One or two things that don't look right and parts you need to fix up that you don't notice otherwise.
The camera never lies! It's helped me a few times to point out bad areas. Only if it's a good camera that is.

Cheers JP. Thanks. It's a job and a half.! But it's coming along nicely.

Cheers! Thank you.
They had that large fire which burnt everything to the ground, as reports have it. But no need to worry as Dusek has come to the rescue. They have the rights to now reproduce Mamoli kits. Same but a little bit better. Just have to wait for the release.

Sorry about the poor quality photos. The cannons have all been painted and carriages that were placed under the decks have had the cannons placed on them.
Had to make sure to place these carriages first as it would of been very difficult after the decks had been installed.

Well when I'm done your most welcome to my plans of her. If there is anything left of them!
They only have the Mamoli 1:93 USS Constitution left in Stock. It's looking very bleak now.

I have seen other logs on here with the same problem, But I guess I was lucky. After reading about this problem in other logs of the Friesland, I was waiting for it to happen to mine. But yeah, as I said, lucky.
The plans show the ports cutting through the Wales. But not quite to the extent mine do. I had just followed the countor of the decks .
You might struggle to find one of these kits now as the manufacturer has shut up shop. Have a look at Ages of Sail as they still have a supply of Mamoli such as the Friesland.
I really want the HMS Beagle by Mamoli but I'm affraid it's way out of my limited budget. Maby if I win lotto....😂 Cheers for looking in.

I have brought the exact same sander a couple of months ago. Purely because I have taken on refurbishing the admirals doll house. They are perfect for the tasks we need them for.
All sanded up she looks brilliant. Good job.

Looking pretty sharp, Scott. Sometimes the quality and finish of the decorations on these sorts of models can look overscale and detract from the model but these look terrific.
Grant
Thank you Grant for having a peek.
These decorations are coming up great. It's putting so much weight onto the model that I had to move it's temporary stand down the keel towards the stern in order for the model to be balanced.
Thanks for checking in.

Hi Scott - you are doing a fine job with this kit. I built it many years ago. One thing I noticed when I built mine was the bottom row of dummy gun barrels stuck out way too far. I didn`t notice it until they were all glued in place - I should have shortened them or got shorter gun barrels. You might want to test fit them & see what you think.
Mark
Yes I have seen that too with the build log of greatgallons. But lucky for me this kit must be a newer one as I have already measured and they are fine.
Cheers for checking in.

I believe modelers shiyard from NSW have an great range, But as you said. See how the costs weigh up. But also, You only build the ship once.
