My opinion is i love mamoli kits. Personal preference. Your doing a great job. Its coming along nicely. Checkout my mamoli build of the Friesland if you have time. The log is still on this  site. Looking forward to the next layer planking.

I would even imagine me building this kit but as it is very rare now days mayby not. Your off to a good start. The metal decorations Mamoli provides are decent but do need a lot of cleaning up as lots of flashing and burrs occur. Good work.

Cheers! I see you scratch built your windows too. I think it looks much better that way. Now is the time to paint thoses gun ports before the next deck goes on. I almost made that mistake!

Stern windows this time! The kit supplys you with the unsightly metal cast windows which i defiantly wont be using. So instead om making my own out of 1mm×1mm stock and then make my own glass for them.

    Hello
I am actually in Perth as well and doing the same kit but a lot more heavily bashed.
At the point now where I am putting the Standing rigging on and attaching the sails to the yards
Just a quick shot taken just before Christmas of the ship with the mast dry fitted temp.

My very first attempt at the crowsfeet ended in disaster. So i ripped it down and started again. Im happy with this one so it can stay.

Here we are still plodding along. This time the shourds have been started and ratlines being done on the foremast port side.

    Hi Scott
I got the exact same Endeavor model about 25 years ago from my wife for either xmas or my birthday, never seemed to get a chance to start it. in the mean time i built a 1800 sq. ft. cottage and a two story 1800 sq. ft. garage but this model seems to me a lot harder to figure out. I have never built a boat or any other model for that matter since the little plastic car ones as a kid. I find the instructions ( or lack of instructions ) to be very vague so I went to  Duck Duck Go ( hate google) and found your blog. with the help of your photos i might be able to get the woodworking part done but I cant imagine with my shaking hands and waning eyesight of ever  getting the rigging completed.
I take it this project isn't really for first timers but who knows i might surprise myself.

Lining gunports can be very tedious. Looks like a brilliant job. Nice work. The paint job has come out superb.

I have this kit too. Haven't started yet. Yours looks real nice. Gun ports line up very well and also a top paint job.

More work on the mizzen mast.
And also the very first shroud line went on.

Very nice indeed. I have also built her. My build log is on here as well. Check it out if you have time. Yours already looks better than mine. I really enjoyed this kit. Hope you dont mind me posting a pic of her on here.  Color of your ornamentation looks great. Good job

Hi Scott, your build is looking very nice indeed. I just started my AL Endeavour which came in the same box you have. So, it too is about 30 years old or so. The wood seems to be in fair shape. I keep going up and back if I should do a build log. I want to contribute but most of the members are so much better than me, I don't know if they would get anything out of it (accept a good laugh!). It's been so long for me that I would have to go back and review how to add a build log. Oh, I ordered the AOTS Marquarts Endeavour book and also the book written in depth by Ray Parkin. It will be at least another week before I get the first one and probably closer to three weeks on the Parkin book. I think it's being shipped to me from near your area.

Anyway, again - very nice job. It's looking great. When I finish mine I will give it to one of my sons that I haven't yet made a ship for. It will be months and months before I get to where you're at today. Thank you for doing such a nice job Scott.

Hey all. Some more work has been done and progress is good.  Finished planking the hull below the wales and added the stem post, keel and about to add the stern post.
One rubbing strake has yet to be added about two plank rows above the wales.
This whole thing needs a good sand very carefully because the veneer strips are only 1mm thick. Some touch ups to do but im pleased with it so far. Hope you enjoy.

The first few planks laid down. The slightest curve and the top edge wants to kick out. Using drawing pins to clamp planks down so I have no holes.
It’s tedious work but I think I’m winning. What do you think? Look ok?

    Well slowly but still going.
    Painted fore mast up
Continuing with the main mast construction. Not a big update but little bits I can do every now and then.

Moving on from chain plates I have made a start on the bowsprit
The various cleats and bee are in position.
The jack staff complete with block attached
The ship at a glance of progress.
Happy with the outcome so far.

As I was saying. I decided to add knees onto the deadeye channel, cut these out of 2mm ply and painted up tiller housing.
