    Thanks Popeye; it's always nice to read kind words. I'm glad you like it. Now I'm re-considering sewing another sail. A friend of mine told me about the ropes on the sail and I must agree they are a bit over-scaled. What do you - my friends think of that? Another solution would be to use a hard pencil (6H) and point the dots along the sail cloth to imitate the gores (?)

    I can see nice progress here Any plans what to do with unmatching fittings of the long boat?

    A couple of pics showing the footropes and stirrups. The stirrups are made by sewing the rope with a needle. Then they are coiled round the yard. The rope that is used as a footrope has been done by myself. It looks better than the ropes from the kit ( I thinks so at least )

    Kamil you have done a wonderful work so far. I like the colours you've made. When you reach the cannons, make'em black. I bought in Poland (via allegro) a blackening substance. Previously, I was painting the metal parts and the outcome was so-so. Any questions- don't hesitate to ask and write. Cheers, BTW thanks for some tips in PM

    Nevertheless, I didn't mean to reef it aloft. Therefore, there is a ray of hope for it to look like from a by-gone era.

    The latest update on the sail. I have managed to splice the rope using only a nedle. I will post more photos soon.

    Hi Vivian, I agree that the look of your ship is awesome. It looks like the real ship of her period. Take your time in each step. Don't do anything too fast Someone wrote that every single part should be treated as a separate model itself. It helps concentrate on details then. Keep up your good work. I will be observing your progress Paweł

    Thanks Mark!!! I was looking at the plans (Mantua) and it is supposed to be attached where I showed. But, as we all know the plans are sometimes from outer space. I will try to attach the cleats. The worst plans ever!!! Thanks for your help!

    Now it'll be clearer I think... The question is where to drag the rope (through the yellow triangle or not?). The destination place is by the foremast. Any ideas then?

    Sorry Mark, the green lines it's a ship's bow I'll try to put a photo when I get back home

    I wouldn't like to suggest anything but for me they shouldn't go through the triangle... BTW, the part I'm talking about is a bowsprit and the ropes from the foremast sail

    Firstly, apologies for the "professional photo" Secondly, I have an urgent question about the position of the red ropes coming down from the sail cloth. Should they go through the yellow triangle (made by two ropes) or they should pass the triangle from the outer side????? The ends of the red ropes are by the foremast belaying pin. Could you help me please???? Thanks I hope I have made myself clear enough with my drawing...

    Thanks Bug fir you words Yep, I know it looks fluffy there. Probably that's because of the ZOOOOOOM. It looks normal in its position. Before placing the thread I pull it through a cube of bee wax. Then I pull the thread through my fingers. Then it looks OK. Sometimes when it is covered with wax I use a flame to melt out the excess of the wax and get rid of unnecessary "fluffs".

    I forgot... The knot I used was a buntline hitch. It's a reliable and secure knot. That's all for today

    Today's progress.... I'm quite happy with the eye-spliced rope I've made. It was pretty easy using only a needle to do it.

    The technique I use to form the shape of the ropes. I have a diluted glue (not CA but for wood). Maybe the steps will turn out to be helpful for some of you - but I have copied this technique from DANVAD ( thanks:) ) as I remember well
