  7. Hi AJ Going back to your comments about the Humbrol paints I sand off the scorch marks and always apply white undercoat before putting the top coat on The top coat could need 2 or 3 applications Regards Ken

  11. AJ The paints I use are as follows. Red Humbrol tinlet #60 Yellow/Buff Humbrol tinlet #103 I always undercoat first with a waterbased product from the paint shop ( white ) Black is a small can of flat black again from the paint shop And the green. The plans say "dark green " so again to the paint shop I pick a dark green from a colour chart and get a test pot made up The test pot is big enough for me to use a brush which is about 1.5 inches wide so I can paint quickly and smoothly Hope all that helps Regards Ken

  13. Hi Ed it will be good to follow your build too. I completed a Niagara a few years ago. Most of the masts and rigging where smashed in a house move Rather than trying to repair the damage I bought a whole new kit and started again The theory being I would do a better job second time around Time will tell Regards Ken

  15. Hi AJ I cant see the transom planking size on the plan either But , in the instruction book ( page 16 ) under the heading Planking the Counter and Transom It says " Cover the counter and transom with 1/32 planks " Hope that helps Regards Ken

Hello QA As far as I know MS does not have a distributor in Australia either, so we order direct from the US paying by credit card then airfreight to here The lack of a local distributor is really not a problem The freight cost is generally offset in that we don't pay US taxes and Australian GST Regards Ken

  20. Hi Rich Actually you might be able to help me with my next project The blocks for the gun tackle. Each gun has 2 single and 2 double blocks , if as you did, leaving out the in haul tackle I am going to drill a hole in each of those blocks and fit a hook Does that sound right ? Regards Ken
