Since my progress is slow and steady . . . you get photos of every little step forward! I added the molding strips on each side, just below the gun ports. These were actually quite challenging to get a smooth run since they're so narrow. It's easy to accidentally kink them. The first side I did I wound up pulling off and reattaching the main strip 4 times, and the short strip in front of the forward gun port 2 times. I blame Mike (Stuntflyer) for setting the example of pulling things apart and starting over. The second side went much smoother with no need to start over.

Well, I procrastinated long enough, I knew that installing the Keel would be difficult, and it lived up to the billing. I started by lining up the Keel on the overturned hull, and marking the Hull as per plan. I used West System G-flex epoxy with 406 filler.( That went smoothly ) The tricky Part was Installing the Deadwood. ( this took a few attempts and burned thru a bunch of wood ) Once the Deadwood was set, I epoxied them in and filled the seams. I will let her stand for a day or 2 and fair the Keel. Here are the results

Today, I actually got a very early start, and a very simple task, I painted the Grey bilge coat ( it proved not to be as simple as one thought ) Next will be to work on the Cockpit seating, ( I have not decided whether to enclose them or leave them open like on the plans ) Here are the results

Bulwarks continued.
It feels like I am taking a long time over this. Accurately shaping the 6 bulwark pieces took a lot of time but now it is done.
The the middle of the 3 layers went on first and fortunately it went on well.
The inner layer went on next - thus creating the first sculpture line on the hull.
The bow where the bow sprit passes through is very heavily built on Altair and I wanted to reproduce this on the model.
The transom also has a fairly subtle shape which I will try to reproduce.
But first I needed to get the stern bulwark in place.
And that is how far I have got at present.

Hi Ed,
thanks for looking in and for your nice compliment. I was stuck a bit in the winch fabrication, lifeboats and vents, and sorting out the related design, so there is not much progress on the basic model, but following your wish, I`m happy to show the present state (pics taken this afternoon )
