Yes, drill a small hole and put the eyebolt into it. I use CA glue to hold it place, others use epoxy.
-
Blocks could be attached to eyebolts or rigged to the masts/yards using rope.

Hi Wahka, You'll find that double planking is only done on some kits... probably more than I can think of. This was done so that a novice builder could use the first planking to get the shape and second planking to make it look nice. Also, many of the older kits just aren't that accurate to begin with. So, use the wood you want for the second layer. If you want to bash it some more, research and add to it to improve the accuracy. But most important... enjoy yourself and the hobby.

Wahka, I'll add to what Chris said and suggest you open a log. Not only will you get help, but you'll be helping others.
-
Welcome to MSW. I can't help either except to suggest that maybe you can cut a new plank from the scrap the kit left behind.
-
Well that's only part of what a log will do. It'll also get you help from other watching the build. A win-win situation.

B-25 Mitchell "Meet Miss Runyon" by Javlin-HK-1/32
mtaylor replied to Javlin's topic in Non-ship/categorised builds
For a hundred missions, she probably went through at least 4 total crews....... -
Thanks for the ideas, gents. I mounted the rear ramp and door... not glued yet though as I'm sorting that part out. I'm thinking either fully closed or maybe the top panel fully open and the ramp half open or even full up. I also started filling in the gaps.... tomorrow sanding. And before I repaint the filled gaps, I need to check the fit of a few pieces just in case I need to butcher things.

Discretion being the better part of valor, I won't say anything else other then to suggest you start a build log.

Not intentional Lou. But I too like the way the finish looks. I may or may not add some "weathering" if I can figure out how to do it. Didn't get much done today as doc said today is physical checkup day with labs and tests scheduled. So I went. I'm still sorting how to fix seams and also put on the cargo doors on the rear. I have a feeling that the instruction book will be ignored for this step.....

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
