  1. Hello, Here I show step by step how to make the detail for the bolts. In the meantime, I have made as far as all fitting parts for the double blocks of the backstays.
  2. Hello Albert, Thank you for your interest. And here follows the continuation of the report: Here you can see how the bolts for the double blocks are made step by step. At the top of the fork-like shape comes a hole with 0.3 mm for the joint axis. For the attachment of the double blocks on the channels, I have the following solution found. I think that this could be historically correct. This design is similar to that of attaching eyebolts for breeching ropes on french sailing warships. The method of producing this detail I have seen in a Russian model building forum.
  3. Hello Siggi, a very nice hull and rudder. A great performance. The holes for the rudder fittings were apparently drilled on the model?
  4. Hello Mark, always nice to see in your construction report. A very nice performance.
  5. Hello Aviaamator, Thank you for the informative presentation on the production of sails. That's a very good performance. To the width of the cloths of the sails I can inform you that these at the La Creole have a width of about 60 cm.
  6. Hello Carl, yes correct, it is a 1 cents piece in the background. At the moment I can show only little progress:
  7. Hello, finally the etched parts have arrived. So I made another prototype for the double blocks for the backstays. The attachment on the channels is shown here with a cross pin. Whether that is historically provable, I do not know. But I can not do this find information, neither in the literature nor on the Internet. Maybe you know a solution for this?
  8. @albert @deadbrotherbear @cog Hello, thanks for your interest. Duplication makes a jewelry foundry. I hope it works the way I hoped
  9. Hello, until the etched parts arrive, I make hooks for the rigging and blocks. These hooks are reproduced with brass castings.
  10. Hello Albert, Patrick, Michael thanks in advance for the nice words. The drawing as a template is from me. But I have the etching parts made by a company.
  11. Hello Doris, the tiny sculptures are gorgeous. The way you make them is unique and very artful. I am deeply impressed.
  12. Hello friends of model making, thanks for the interest, especially thanks to Carl for the last nice comment. At the moment my job takes me a lot. Therefore, there is little time for the hobby. In that respect, I can only show a little. The iron fittings of the blocks for the backstays I have as etched parts commissioned. Other fittings are for the double blocks for the boat davits. These blocks are equipped with hooks. For this my first attempt. This is not optimal yet.
  13. Hi Ed, I always like to look into your report to learn. In addition, it is very nice, the emergence of an absolute top model to be allowed to watch.
  14. Hello Karl, admirable performance you show here. This will be a wonderful model again.
  15. Hello Patrick, the work steps are displayed very well. I can learn a lot from that. As always an astonishingly precise and fine detail work. I am enthusiastic about your report.
  16. Hello, Thoma, Doris, Dave and Ferit, thank you very much for the nice comments. It is always a pleasure to receive such compliments. Thanks to all the others for the LIKES. On the occasion of my 60th birthday, I spent my holidays in Dubai with my family. Yesterday we came back safely. For an architect, this city already offers a lot of fascinating. But, all that glitters is not gold ... ... Also there was to see in Dubai: In front of Al Fahidi Fort, built in 1787 and housing the Dubai Museum, is this historical dhow to see. So now we have to air-conditioning again, not only in terms of the weather.
  17. Hello Karl, excellent detail work. It is nice to be able to observe your progress.
