Omega1234 got a reaction from Elia in SHADOW by Omega1234 - FINISHED - Scale 1/300 - Luxury 60m Mega Yacht
HI folks!
Thanks for all of your comments and Likes; which I enjoy very much.
Well, Shadow's journey continues. I've painted the underwater section of her hull a silver colour. Why? Because the real ship was built out of aluminium and I figured, that an aluminium looking under-hull would be fitting. Besides, I have seen a few pictures of other mega yachts with silver coloured under-hulls and they looked stunning (well, to my eye, anyway). Therefore, I'm kinda sticking with the current metallic colour scheme of gold above-water and silver underwater. I'll add a black water-line later on.
I've also laid the individually planked wooden decks tonight. They still require sanding and trimming, but hey, as with the whole model, there's still a bucket load more work to go!
I hope you enjoy the photos.
Cheers
Patrick

Hey Kees
I have to agree with Carl. That's a really nice glass storage compartment. There's nothing like good 'peace of mind', knowing that your hard work is well protected.

Hi Nils
Once again, exemplary work. You're definitely powering along with your KWDG. Before you know it, you'll be fitting the last piece and settling her into her display case.
Nicely done!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for your comments and Likes. Greatly appreciated.
Well.....she FLOATS!!!!! Who would've thunk it, hey? After doing some more wet and dry sanding and painting of the hull and superstructure last night, I thought I'd see if Shadow actually floats. So, off I went to one of our garden ponds and, well, I'll let the pictures say the rest...
Enjoy
Cheers

Hi folks
I'm back! Life's been really hectic over the past few weeks, which has meant that I've had little time for MSW, catching up with people's builds, or working on Shadow. Hopefully, things will ease off so that I can get back to some normality.
Anyhow, over the past few nights, I've kinda reached a milestone with Shadow - that being the completion of the construction of the major components of her superstructure. With that milestone behind me, I can now settle down to detailing her interior accommodation and the myriad of above-deck details. Fun times ahead!
I hope you all enjoy the photos as much as I'm going to enjoy catching up with everyone's build logs!
Cheers

Omega1234 reacted to Gerhardvienna in Baby Bootlegger by Gerhardvienna - 1/10 - RADIO
Hi & back again with more from the Cad - works
The engine is drawn complete, next to do is to transform all the single parts into printable .stl files. I must save the complete Cad-file in the correct store place and then make for every part a new file. This is a lot of work to do, but for now here come the next photos.
The engine with its measure, all measures in 1/10th mm
The engine from the rear side
The engine from the front side, under the round hood sit all the necessary contacts
Best regards, thank you for watching!

Kees;
Looking good.
Question: in one of the pictures you have a large scale flat bottom boat (plat bodem KW 17), is that a haring buis? What scale is it? Kit or Scratch?
Thanks,
Marcus

Oy, hit, repeat hit, on HMS Visa and the Deathstar.
We are so enamored of the tech stuff. And once in, you can't just punt. Good luck with rebuilding the Deathstar.
