Popeye, Gerty and Bgformula, thanks for stopping by, Icebreakers? Wow that would be way too cold for me. but check out the Indicator loop cable website for more on the Pequote.

Ok, in launches, Edwardian indicates a style not an era. If you Google 'Edwardian Launch' and click on images there are many to see. Some steam some gas most made in early 20th century.

who knows Patrick......perhaps later, when you have the decks and structures fleshed out, you may opt to redo them in styrene she's looking fine!

HI Frank
Many thanks for your lovely comment. I'm not sure about the 'talented' bit, but I sure do love what I do. As I've said in previous logs, there's something mesmerising and fascinating for me about building at these scales.
So much so, that I just can't help but love creating these teeny tiny boats.
Thanks once again.
Have a great week!
Cheers

Hi Carl - good question! To be honest, I'm not really too sure, either. Maybe, it's because I had cut the template out of cardboard anyway and, before I knew it, I'd started to use it to build the actual deck. No stress, though, because once it's planked with wood and saturated in liquid super-glue, it'd be super strong! In fact, it'd be just as strong as styrene, or, wood.
Hi Nenad. Thanks for your lovely comment and, also for the loan of the Ants! Greatly appreciated.
Hi John - thanks for the photos of the Type 21 Destroyer. It's always nice to see how these ships are built. Kinda like watching giant lego blocks coming together, aren't they?
Have a great week, everyone!
Cheers

Omega1234 got a reaction from Elia in SHADOW by Omega1234 - FINISHED - Scale 1/300 - Luxury 60m Mega Yacht
Hi folks
Thanks heaps for all of your comments and Likes. Much appreciated!
Well, Shadow's journey continues. Before I can start on any of her internal details, I've decided that it is essential to build the superstructure and it's supporting decks, namely the Main, Upper and Sun Decks. Once they're done, then I can safely start on the internal accommodation.
As you can see from the photos, the decks are really at a very rough and early stage, so they don't look terribly spectacular Here's hoping that with a healthy dose of magic by Nenad's worker ants , the 'diamond in the rough' will be transformed into a little jewel (well....let's hope so).
Cheers and all the best!

Omega1234 reacted to woodenmast in Skipjack by michael mott - 1/8th scale - SMALL - 19 foot open launch
Greetings- I am doing research on a boat I have and am trying to establish the builder. The hull is very similar to Floss/Skipjack. Tried to contact Harold Shields who wrote an article for Woodenboat, but he had recently suffered a stroke and was unable to remember much. I noticed your post from a while back and was wondering if you had any response.
This boat was purchased from the owner in 1964 and who stated it was build in Peterborough On. in 1912. Was powered by a 2 cyl. Ferro. It is now powered by a 1 cyl steam engine.
Any info would be appreciated, I will try and forward a photo soon.
Many Thanks,
Don Hall

Very interesting timelines here. In the second picture in the lower left corner you have a vintage brass coloured looking device. I haven't seen anything like it before. Looks like something right out of the Sherlock Holmes movies. What pray tell is it?
P.S. Love the RC models you are building especially the Marblehead Pond Yacht.
Very impressive Jond!
