  2. good afternoon, apologies for not getting back recently to the builds that i follow, Real life keeps getting in the way

     

    i have sorted the two missing gun port problems out, and the lids are kind of ok, bit the fds lower deck one does not follow the shape of the hull very well - ie it is flat where as the hull is curved, they still  need to be touched up

     

    the two after fenders are in - bit of a pain to get right, - i should off perhaps done it a lot earlier

    HMS Boreas (28), Cptn. Horatio Nelson, arrives at English Harbour, Antigua. 

    1806

    HMS Mars (74), Cptn. Robert Dudley Oliver, captured Rhin (44), Capt. Chesneau, in the Bay of Biscay

    1808

    HMS Volage (22), Cptn. P. L. J. Rosenhagen, captured sloop Requin off Northern Corsica

    1861

    Frigate USS St. Lawrence, Cptn. Hugh Y. Purviance, spotted a schooner flying English colors and engaged the vessel. Fleeing, the schooner then ran up the Confederate flag and fired three shots. Returning fire, St. Lawrence hit the vessel twice, once in her bow. Survivors of the sunken vessel revealed it had been the Confederate privateer, Petrel.

    As the Continental brig Reprisal, Cptn. Lambert Wickes, approached St. Pierre Harbor, Martinique, she was attacked by the British sloop-of-war Shark (16). After a sharp encounter, Shark withdrew and Reprisal entered port.

    1778

    First Battle of Ushant. British fleet of 30 ships of the line, under Admiral the Hon. Augustus Keppel, fought an inconclusive action against a French fleet of  29 ships, under Admiral Louis Guillouet, comte d'Orvilliers.

    1808

    HMS Pickle schooner,  Lt. Moses Cannadey, wrecked on the Chipiona shoal at the entrance to Cadiz as she was entering carrying dispatches. .

    1811

    Boats of HMS Active (38), Cptn. James Alexander Gordon, captured 18 vessels and destroyed 10, in a creek of Ragosinza, without the loss of a British man.

  5. i taught myself a little tip today with regards to touching up the spray painted areas, as the attempt to touch up from the pots seamed well - naff, i have been spraying a 1 second burst into a little pot, - and providing you use it with 10 - 20 seconds- whilst still in liquid form, and a decent brush with some thinners hanging around, i have managed to cover up a load of stratches, knocks etc, and cut ends of the etched parts
