Vivian Galad reacted to NAZGÛL in Wasan 1628 by Nazgul - FINISHED - Billing Boats Vasa 1:75
Hey all! Small update. I added the clamps holding the bowsprit ropes. I blended them to match the other wood, so they aren't very obvious. I also made the mainstay collar, trying to get it like the real one at the museum. Paintwise its washes and trying to get everything to blend and look balanced. I'm glad I repainted the lower area of the beakhead.

Hi Vivian,
Your ship looks wonderful. How will you cover your electrical work over the cabin? I am looking forward to the rigging and sails. You are almost done, great job!

Hola, Raymond!
Thank u for your words. I love the stairs, too. Took some pictures from the ship and the hold.
Next four pics show the hold with and without the ship.
Next 3 pictures shows the ships ladder attached to the port davit amidships closely and a bird´s view from top mast.

Jud, as my junk is an "elitist" one, no squids to dry on her. The dignitary traveling in the ship wouldn´t be pleased by such an insolence, it seems. I would love to build a diorama, though, with some traders and fishers, drying squids and fishes, nets all around. Have found some pictures of something like that:
(don´t have the credits for it, but it´s so great a model)

Well, here we are. After too much work and almost no time for ship modeling, I´m back for masting and rigging, at least to begin rigging. Still haven´t fixed the hole over the cabin as my soldering iron is missing and every single time I think to buy a new one, I forget to do it as my head is always in my work - hope I can forget the work justs a little bit on the next 2 or 3 days .
I´ve made some daylight model shooting with her today, here are the pictures:
The arrow is to show a little breaking on my windlass as I was rigging the first blocks. As the bars are wood, not the metal cast which the kit supplied, they are a lot more fragile. I´ll fix it after rigging the foremast completely.
That´s it for now. I´ll be working on her next 2 days and begin a new project, soon to be brought to you. :D

Friday got a bit more lively......I need to get the pilot house fleshed out, so I can better gauge the apparatus for the booms {cranes}....I'll get the terminology down....sooner or later
it starts with the base....
it has a curved front wall, but I gave it a bit of a twist, with the side walls.....it will have an angled face.
the back wall is going to have a framed in door.......hence the larger opening. you'll see a lot of pencil marks......after it is assembled, they can be sanded out or erased.
when assembled, it looks like this.....
on the back wall, there is a housing for the stack....it will have a louvered vent in it. here are the parts and the door insert.
I put the darn thing together.......but forgot to cut out the vent.
it's OK....very easy to do it at this time.......it was assembled onto the back wall.

The hull planking is completed,..sort of,,, the stern will be a challenge. This was unavoidable in any case, as the kit supplied planks are not long enough to wrap around from bow to stern. Wish me luck to some how tie everything together to the stern that would look reasonable...LOL
