  1. You've made the right decision to do the fix. Happy holidays and have a nice stay in the UK with Anja .
  2. In my opinion it's not necessary to have a solid staircase now, it's lookin fine now. It's more important what you want yourself, closed or open .
  3. This is really great work, I like the interiors very much. Cannot wait for the next update
  4. Thanks for your support, John and Sjors. After painting the wheelhouse the plastic, woord or cardboard is out of sight.
  5. While still busy on the stacks I started with the wheelhouse. I've tried to construct it with 1mm plywood but it went wrong with the windows. After several tries I've made it out of plasticcard.
  6. Nice to see some pictures Sjors. Nice progress . Why do you use lightcoloured rigging? As far as I know only the rigging at the deadeyes is light and all above is darkcoloured.
  7. Nice progress Adrieke. Broken doors and unwilling stairs are so familiar to modelling wooden ships, but there is always a solution .
  8. @Brian You can have a look on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paddle_steamer There are two types of paddle steamers: sternwheelers and sidewheelers, both used for rivertrips, but for a more rough sea/water the sidewheeler was used. John, sorry for answering before you could .
  9. Adrieke, Your display board looks fine to me, I only asked because mine was different. I like using normal materials as drawer knobs, they are ideal for pedestals.
  10. Sjors, I suppose your fans want more pics . Did you use normal woodglue or the water resistant woodglue. Normal woodglue you can soften with steam (as John already said) and with the help of a sharp knife you are able to release the parts.
  11. Looks like a very interesting build and I wish you good luck with the build of it. It's true most steamboats were destroyed by boiler explosions.
  12. Thanks John, it's not mandatory to follow all logs . As long I have inspirarion on the stacks of the Creole the Turtle has to wait for her next step. Can be one week or one month, I don't know yet.
  13. Thanks for looking in Mark . I was askes how I bend the brass. Take a wooden rod with the correct diameter. Take a piece of brass, Take two pliers and force the brass around the rod. Cut the brass, bit of sanding and that's it. That's for the first ornament, the C and Q. For the second ornament I've bend the brass two times around the rod.
  14. Hello Anja, Good to see you back building the Half Moon. Nice progress .
