  1. Sjors, All those guns, gunports and gunlids are looking good, impressive.
  2. Thanks for your comments, it's appreciated. @Sjord The green is not so green anymore, I mixed a bit of grey and green for the second layer.
  3. Nice work John. The proportions for the decks of the AL Mississippi are correct. I've had that question before on a Dutch forum and scaled from 1:80 to 1:1 - enginedeck and horse stay: height = 3.35 m - both passengerdecks: 2.40 m - wheelhouse 3,65 m The wheel is so big that it is partial sunk in the floor of the wheelhouse - as on the old Mississippe sternwheelers.
  4. First wooden chimneys are gone in the trash, almost impossible to line the both different diameters. Started again with cupper pipe for waterworks (15 mm), then ducttape around the 10 mm wooden rod and it fits better than before. Decorations between the stacks were made of a wooden rod and brass. This was a hell of a job, only after several hours of suffering I was satisfied with the result.
  5. Nice job Robbyn, it's a beautiful ship. Hours dreaming about the gratings you can add to the total construction time .
  6. Hello Anja, Thanks for looking in. At the moment no update, because the Creole Queen needs some attention too .
  7. That's good news Anja, congratulations. Now the nerves are down, you're maybe able to think about building the Half Moon again.
  8. Sorry to hear this Adrieke, and it's indeed the best option to grind the shutters a little bit. To keep both sides of the shutters equal it's maybe better to grind both sides, it is an option.
  9. Wow Sjors, it wil become an impressive ship !! Looking forward for rigging.
  10. Nice progress on the wheelhouse John and don't forget the stove and the beer . I had the same problem with the 3rd deck, it was a little curved. To hide the small gaps I placed a small plank around.
  11. Geoffrey, good to see another Korean ship. As far as I can see It looks like a Panokseon-ship, the basic of the turtle ship. I wish you a lot of pleasure building this ship.
  12. Hi Adrieke, I've just made a reservation for a chair in the front. Why do you want to finish the King first, you can work on both ships, no problem . Good luck !!
  13. It's not so complicated, this is only a lot of work. Remember a part of wheel will sink in the bottom of the wheelhouse, now you have glued the sides you will need tweezers. And don't forget the stove, it's cold now .
  14. Hello Sjors, Hope you didn't eat too much eggs? Nice pictures you've made of a beatifull ship. Cannot wait for the rigging;).
  15. Hello Sjors, Thanks for looking in. I think you are right that this green is to green. It's indeed the first layer and the next layer I will mix the green a little bit with a drup of grey.
  16. Adrieke, I have to admit the 4 pane windows are looking good . Sapelli isn't easy to bend because of its structure, I like Johns' idea.
  17. Haven't done much, so only a small update. Placed the name of the ship at starboard and port and changed the letters "CQ" by larger ones. Placed windows and red curtains in the cabin of the 3rd deck. A first layer of green on the open deck. Preparing the last deck for the wheelhouse.
  18. Anja, Wish you the best on April 8th with your second interview. Hope the atmosphere ar work will improve in a short time.
