  1. This is really a nice ship to see and to build. I've build her years ago, when I was much younger . Looking forward for more updates.
  2. You've made a nice jig for windowframing. In my case family would opt for the one with 6 panes, indeed the one with most work .
  3. Happy birthday with your youngest . Hope you will fix the stairs handrails. I've soaked them first in water, then dryfiited them on the stairs, after drying I used carpenter glue (wood) and no CA.
  4. Hi John, Plans of AL are good, service is bad, that's my opinion. I had some missing parts too and after more than 4 years still waiting. You've made an excellent 3rd deck, now you can go on with the build.
  5. @Pete38 Thanks for looking in and your nice words. At the moment I'm focussed on the Turtle ship, but in a few weeks I hope to continue with this one. Have only made a mistake at the paddlewheel, there's too much space between blades/paddles 3 and 4. But in my opinion the total view is good, so I'm not gonna change that. The Belle of Louisville is another beautiful riverboat, If you gonna start the build I will follow that closely. Have fun with the preparations .
  6. Thanks for sharing this, I'm very interested in riverboats. I've always wondered what the content of this box was . Looking forward to the next update.
  7. Nice progress Sjors. If you want to repair the decorations, in a special art shop you can buy good quality goldpaint.
  8. Having a look at the construction of the stairs you don't have to worry about the 3rd deck imo . I wish I have done the stairs the same way....
  9. Hats off sir Very very nice build in this scale, cannot wait for more updates.
  10. No problem, normally I don't like the preprinted parts, but this one seems to be well and useful.
  11. This is one of the hardest parts of this model, but you're doing very fine. After this everything will be more easy .
  12. It could be the Russian ship Krusenstern (ex Padua from Germany), but she was always a four master.
  13. Thanks for looking in John and Adrieke. @Adrieke Those lines are preprinted deckplanks.
  14. Thans Daniel for looking in. The cherry was more easy to bend than I thought. Placing the deck on the hull. Needed some creative clamping. And without clamps.
  15. Nice progress John. That kind of putty is nice to work with, but if you want to oil or varnish a ship you will see some colourdifferences.
  16. Fantastic job Sarah. In a previous post I saw you used a needle threader, that's a great tool for rigging .
  17. Mike, you've made an impressive model, congratulations with the result. Very nice pics in the gallery. I hope I can build mine at the same level.
  18. Nice progress Sjors And about the longboat, maybe here's an answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longboat
  19. Thanks for your comments . @Mike, The tail structure is indeed poorly designed compared to the hull. I managed to line up both tails in the meanwhile.
