  1. Hi Eamonn I'm very interested to hear your feed back for that device, asap. Cheers.
  2. The stropped deadeys and the basic instrumentation...
  3. Started to spend my week-end time to other sections... Using 0,5 copper wire have shaped the strops for the top deadeyes as the kit ones are quite shorter than the width of the top.... The day after I plan to chemically black-oxidize them and close the gaps with cyano glue or solder iron technique. Good night...
  4. And what about the size, I mean the diameter of the encircling line? Thanks
  5. Jason do you mean hypo gs cement? I can;t locate something like hypo gs glue, even I use my net browser...
  6. In the meantime, I just wonder: do I need any special rope material for the serving except those of the kit? Especially for the line that is encircling each mainrope, what kind of material and size is needed? Thank you all, one more time. Stergios
  7. Ok folks, that it was, I've placed my order. Next days I'll be waiting to receive the serving device. With your experienced skills and help I'm sure that I'll do my better, best. Stergios
  8. I agree Eamonn, I'll send a query to be sure that I can remove the motor to turn the procedure to a manual function.... Cheers
  9. Hello again mates. About that additional power option of the serving machine.... Do you consider it as an important feature except the basic 2.0 edition of the serving machine? Thanks
  10. I've sent a querying application to Alexey.....
  11. Thank you all of you guys, I really do appreciate your comments and encouragement.... Still in debate, but I'll see what I can do!
  12. Another question: are any instructional tutorial/videos on what a serving machine can "perform"? Thanks again
  13. Jim, I have no experience with serving.... Is there any help or manual about the basic steps? Thanks
  14. Cheers Eamonn I'll try to melt the debris the way you mentioned, thank you! About the serving tool.... is not a matter of money, is a matter of time! I believe that thte remaining time to finish "Snake" will be seriously increased with serving, that's why I continue to resist and try to do my best to accomplish the rigging section without any serving machine... Thanks again... Stergios
  15. Echo this! How are you trimming those knots Jim?
  16. Some times I think to buy a serving tool but every time I change my thoughts....
  17. Trying to fit the burton pendants... I used black line 1mm from the kit and passed it three times on natural wax.... The wax's debris are inevitable (?) especially on the black rope... Last pic after the debridement and a light black paint...
  18. Fine work Jim, I like that contrast to the shrouds. Do u use the lines of the kit or aftermarket supplies? Have u used any kind of beewax in advance? Thanks.
  19. A lot of questions...about the shrouds and the mizzen mast... Should I start making loops in the middle of each line and creating that way a double line running towards a respective pair of deadeyes? At what distance from the mast should I make the seizing of each pair of line? Thank you all.
  20. I try to finish all the peripheral fittings before the final rigging-battle of the masts and their components
  21. Jigs for the 5mm and 3,5mm deadeyes laynards are ready
  22. Hi Jason, do you have any information about the length of the burton pendants? Is there any length difference between those of mizzen mast and those of main mast? I'm studying "Rigging period ship models" but olny the plans are illustrated.... Thanks.
  23. Jason, Mort thank you again for your assistance... That is really what I wanted to do....
