  1. Wow, so they are blocks indeed, but single (?) ..!! I thought it was wrong the whole plan, I thought "H" was 3mm deadeye or 3mm double block.... Thank you so much anyway Davemc! Stergios
  2. Everytime I'm seeing the plan, I feel more unsecure about those "H" structures, named as "3 mm single blocks" in the plan... It is possible to be in fact 3 mm deadeyes? I tried to find a reference using Petersson rigging period ship models, but no chance.... What do you think? Thank you
  3. Hi Jason and thank you again. I think I've finished with the standing rigging of the bowsprit. The rest of it's rigging, needs to have attached the bowsprit to the ship. Pic to follow... So (excluding the jib boom, I strongly agree with you), what's in your opinion the very first point to start with working the rigging form the stern? Cheers. Stergios
  4. Hi Jason To my knowledge, to be able to put and finish the stays (main and preventer) I have to fix the bowsprit dowel in advance. Am I wrong somewhere?
  5. Hi Davemc and thank you. To put all the stays correctly you have to attach the bowsprit mast in place, right?
  6. Hi to everyone. After the final trimming of the yards I'm showing you the latest picture of the ship and this way the stage of the current construction. Sorry for the anti-dust cover Now, I really need your recommendations on "how to proceed, next": working on the standing rigging ?, working upwards (and outwards)?, leaving the vulnerable bowsprit and its rigging for later? Doing something else? Thank you in advance. Stergios
  7. Rigging of the yards: almost finished (a bit of touch up and a final trimming is needed).
  8. These days the yards dpt is working hard to achieve the best possible balance and footropes-symmetry. Stay in touch.
  9. Well, i think that the floor varnish is the best option to stabilize ropes and footropes and give a natural sense of the whole creature. Removing the pins-counterweights from the pva hardened rope leaves a rope sticky spot at the place of each pin which is totally undesirable....
  10. Davemc, jason, thank you so much. I've prepared two rope-specimen (using watered pva and floor varnish respectively). I'll inform you about the final results...
  11. Hi again Davemc. I'm seeing that ypu have finished the standing rigging, am I right? What's your plan for your next steps? Placing and fixing all the yards permanently or fixing the yards of each mast working from bow to stern for example? Thanks.
  12. Hi Davemc and thank you. Did you use any watered carpenter glue or floor varnish as a hardener for the footropes? Cheers
  13. Hey guys, any tip or advice on how to drop/hang symmetrically the footropes and yards ropes in general...? Especially for the spritsail yard, the relative procedure is a real hedache... Thanks
  14. Hi friends. A questionn in brief, for the spritsail... Do you suggest to fix it to the bowsprit (using a 1mm pin etc as for the rest of the yards) or leave it hanging alone with the attached ropes and blocks? Thank you in advance.
  15. Can't rotate and re-rotate everytime my computer's gallery. The point is to fix this abnormality inside msw.
  16. The entry poinys of the pins and the relative heights of the yards are defined. Cheers. Any advise on how to roatate the pics [anticlockwise] or contact the administrators to help?
  17. The rigging of the yards is almost complete. Thinking to leave all of them unmounted out off the masts. I'll continue with the permanent placement of the bowsprit and start this way the standing rigging of the ship. If you consider I'm wrong, please say it now.
  18. Now ii's time to find the right height for the yards. I'll go using the respective platforms (I can't recall their names, now...) as a reference for the right height for the point to drill a 1mm hole and to fix the yard. PS: The photos are "uploaded" in a 90 degrees orientation. I sent a query mail to msw, no reply.....
  19. That's my version for the sling of the main yards. I used for the eye a custom made 5mm deadeye. Thanks. Stergios PS: The loop is passed the wrong way, I'll fix it later.
