Hello from New Zealand. This is Georges Christmas present, Dad has a real life Herreshoff (Buzzards Bay 25). 

 

Planking underway, building a model boat while living on a boat. Keen to hear from anyone else thats built this model.

Very nice! I owned this kit many years ago, but never got around to building it. I'm looking forward to seeing more progress on it.

Slow progress, but planking finished and rough faired. Ready for more filling and fairing.

Progress continues on Georges model. George appears to be growing faster than the Herreshoff.

This is the latest on my model, we have varnished  the decks and other parts, painted it, added some little details and have got the rig up its looking amazing.

Finished. Good things take time. George has nearly doubled in size but the Herreshoff is looking great.

Looks great! It also looks like you've moved ashore. I sure hope you still have your Buzzards Bay 25! Is she an original or a recent build? She's sure an eye-popper. How did a BB25 end up sailing upside down in New Zealand?

 

Now that you're living on the hard and presumably have some space, and you've built the model, don't you think it's getting to be about time to start thinking about building a full-size "Buzzards Bay Boy's Boat" for that young man? If you get cracking on that, he should be just about ready to skipper his own boat when you get her built!
