I have dabbled in woodworking for the last couple of decades, mostly turning nice boards into sawdust. For the last 8 years I have been sailing and racing on J/30s and similar keelboats. Model ship building seems like an amazing intersection of these other hobbies. I just ordered the Swampscott Dory kit from BlueJacket. This will be my first wood kit model, and my first model boat.
