Model Dockyard shuts down

WOW, I didn't see this coming. Another one bites the dust. My resources are getting smaller and smaller. But I would like to say thank you for always being there for me as well as the rest of us die hard modelers the past 33 years.

Very sad to see the Model Dockyard go. I've been using them for around 20 years and always found their service excellent. I wish Nick Tonkin a happy and well-deserved retirement. Just seems a pity no-one is taking on the business, as there are already too few good suppliers to the model ship community.

It is a shame. I bought one of my very first wooden kits from Nick back in 1992, Mantua's (then) brand new kit of Le Superb, and  ordered from the Model Dockyard for years after. He will be missed.

It’s a shame, just leaves Cornwall Model Boats for on line orders in the UK for timber, parts etc.

Sad to see him go. He always seemed to have fair prices and an inanimate knowledge of what to stock.
