Golden Hind by Daniel Filipe - Occre - 1:85

Recommended Posts

Well, did very little this week. I will start to plank these areas.
Some weeks ago, i ordered some cannons just for curiosity. They are beautiful. I’m not sure if I’m going to use the small ones as the model suggests. (on the upper decks)

In real life, it would be impossible to reload them, etc.

The Model Shipyard golden hind doesn’t have the upper deck cannons.

Anyway, some pictures below

Good evening, today just sanded the B7 strips and placed the B13 in position.
Not fully glued because i wanted to match the piece with the skeleton of the ship. Doing this, I have now some holes on the inside. I made everything according with the instructions.. But it’s fine, I will use my leftovers to close the holes.

If this is glued strong enough 👍
Are you going to paint the inside  visible wooden parts black ?

Good evening, the project slowed down just a bit. It’s Christmas time, more time dedicated to the family and to the job. Things get busier 😅

Besides that, i’ve started learning how to play classic guitar.
I don’t think one life time is enough to do everything we want 🧐

Happy holidays to everyone, be very careful with the newest COVID variant.
Let’s see what is waiting for us in 2022 🤞🏻

Aren't you going to cover these "holes" with a waterway strip?

Hi Daniel

Your model is taking shape and looking quite nice!

Are the cannon from the kit?  The reason I ask is that they look like a cross breed of the Armstrong and Blomefield guns from the 18th century rather than the bronze cannon from 200 years earlier.   Looking at the OcCre kit of the HMS Diana 1794, it appears they use the same hybrid cannon in that kit.

Thanks Allan 👍🏻👍🏻
Regarding the cannons, I got them after starting the model. If they match the time period? maybe not, I’m no expert in this area and just wanted something more real than the ones that comes with the kit 😅

The website didn’t have much more options for the cannons.
And yes, the Diana is a beautiful model!

Best Regards,

Daniel 😄

Just an idea
I would fill the bow with filler blocks first. That will work much easier for planking

@Baker

Currently at the moment, I’m watching some tutorials on YouTube on how to plank properly. (The information I’ve found here on this forum was not so easy for me to understand).

It’s time to improve something.

It was not difficult to glue the plank on the bow. Thanks anyways 🙏🏻
Let’s continue.
