Hello from Virginia

Recommended Posts

Welcome to MSW, Robert.   When you're ready, start a build log as it's a great way to meet others and find help/support on your project.

As for planking... go to the top of any page and you'll see near the right of the link bar "More".  There's not only Chuck's method but a folder for PDF's with other methods.  All are similar but have some different methods.  It should give you some help on planking.

Robert, my warmest :sign:

We have an extensive database for you to go through before making up your mind, just take your time and set for a model you think will be good for you.

Look into build logs of a model that you think off and see whether it could a choice of yours.

All models vary quality and details.

As I know everyone in here will say: "Stay away from any kits from China"

When buying look into our sponsors, as they are accredited and reliable, and there might be a small discount going that route.

Best of luck of your choice and again Welcome to us.

Hi Robert, and welcome to MSW from sunny Ballarat, Australia.

Your HO rail model layout - what period does it portray? (from an ex-rail modeller from way back). HO (1:87) is a good scale to work in for ship modelling as well, and of course if you're into human figures there are plenty available. And of course sailing ships are certainly contemporary with a lot of the rail period.

Hi Robert and welcome to Model Ship World.  Another source for planking information is the Articles Database located at the top of the page.  Click on this and another page opens.  You can scroll down to the Planking and Framing section where you will find articles on planking.  It is a good resource.  What part of Virginia are you located in?
