Good morning,
Xavier's book is definitely what you're looking for. Here is the cover, and what the plans for the launch look like.

Hehe, good question Jan,
I'm not entirely familiar with the print world, but I am very familiar with broadcast copyright laws. Most of them - in particular with regard to damages - revolve around misuse of material for a profit or denying the original owner profit. So, I think for the most part we're ok here since its use is almost entirely informational. ;-)

Mark, I think that the hull looks great. I am not sure that boxwood would look as warm and mellow as what you have achieved.

Looking good my friend.
Another option for your window coverings may be lighting diffusion material or gels for photography / videography. It's relatively inexpensive and can be found at camera stores or websites. It also comes in a very wide variety of thickness and "cloudiness" so may have several options. Here are just a couple examples of what I have in my equipment room.

Beautiful stuff mark! That's really, really nice looking work. Something to envy for sure for those of us who struggle mightily with hull planking.
And of course - particularly given my recent post regarding furling or unfurling the Santa Maria's main sail - I'm predisposed toward agreeing with the Admiral. :-)

Moonbug got a reaction from Canute in Santa Maria by Moonbug - FINISHED - Artesania Latina - Bashed
Thanks so much Joe - I wasn't sure about the aging at first either, but my original intent was for this to be an educational display for my girls' school. That was back before I realized I was going to be two years over deadline. ;-) Anyway, I learned a ton about tarnishing and aging from the forum (and mistakes of course) and am glad I went that direction.
Thanks Richard, I appreciate it. I actually rigged a little pulley so the rear deck could be maneuvered up or down. Not easy mind you, but possible. *laff*. I had to leave that deck pretty open as a result, but I'm still happy with the overall effect.

Get yourself a book "The Ships of Christopher Columbus" by Xavier Pastor. It is from the series "Anatomy of the Ship".

Well folks... looks like she's done. Here she is - the completed Santa Maria. I'll edit and post more of the finished photos, then eventually her final port of call - I have to wait for the Admiral to clear off the Christmas decorations after the new year before the Santa Maria can rest in her final spot.
Thanks for all the likes and comments!

Thanks so much Sjors! I really appreciate it!
I do like her where she is as well. We're thinking about moving her into the living room next to the San Juan. I'll post another photo and compare the two spots. :-)
Next for now is this guy: A stagecoach I promised to build for the Admiral.
Then, my next build is most likely the Pegasus. :-) I want to do a British vessel and my youngest daughter loves horses.

I also very much like the weathered look you gave it, and I really liked the well thought out and executed furnishings and detail in the cabin. Nice touch to leave the cabin overhead openable to show it.
