cobra1951 got a reaction from Elijah in HMB Endeavour by cobra1951 - OcCre - 1:54
Thanks Frank
A lot of the time I use push pins on the first planking instead of nails. It stops the planks riding up like they sometimes do on nails

cobra1951 got a reaction from canoe21 in HMB Endeavour by cobra1951 - OcCre - 1:54
It's a very thick stew
First made as it was a cheap way of feeding a family as most stews are. If it's made with no meat and just vegetables it's called blind scouse

Hi Dave
Yes I there is room for the rudder etc. I think the construction of yours and mine will be different as they are from different manufacturers. Mine called for two strengthening pieces to be fitted either side of the keel at the stern end. Then they tell you to file out the space in between the strengtheners. I did it differently be cutting the piece out of the keel then fitting the strengtheners with the appropriate gap in between them. Awkward as most of the stern is built before it's mentioned.
You can just see the slot in between the two center strengthening pieces in the center of where the transom will be

cobra1951 reacted to Captain Slog in HMB Endeavour by DaveRow - FINISHED - Corel - Scale 1:60 - First Build Kit
Hi Dave,
Looking good and making good progress
Probably just as well they didn't fit as I am led to believe Hexagonal nuts and bolts didn't exist at the time of Endeavour. Possibly square heads but don't know for sure.
Cheers
Slog

cobra1951 reacted to donrobinson in Red Dragon by riverboat - Artesania Latina - 1:60 - Chinese Junk
Myself, you already have done a great job of making them and you may need them for some of the rigging and we are always buying their junk so let them suffer and leave them in . I think they will look good Frank.

Yeah Don, you're right about that........ I'd be surprised if they had any toes at all after high jumping those things all day long!! Do you think I should leave them in or take them out????

Yes there's a fine line with plywood between soaking it long enough to bend and soaking too long so that the layers seperate
I always leave it at least 24 hours to dry out then it holds it's shape
Looks like you have a nice straight assembly for planking

Thank you all for likes etc.
Cobr@: 7 storeys high...
Torbogdan: Yeah, no wonder she keeled over...
Wackowolf: thanks for watching...
Robin: I don't know if I should feel better or worse about it now...
Anyway...
The dummy barrel supports are fitted. The plywood refused to bend. In the end I poured boiling water on them and fixed them until dry. When I loosened them they went back to almost straight again. So I glued them on while still wet, breaking a frame at the same time.
Here you see on the right some the wood I used to fix the broken frame with. And the bow fillers are in place.
And that's it for this month. Now I have to wait another 4 weeks for the next shipment.
Have two decorations to paint, and maybe I will redo the lion heads for the gun port covers. I believe they should be yellowish and not beige. We'll see.
Thanks for watching...

Mr. Pucko
Bending plywood is so tough, and many times resulting with broken piece instead.
Has happened to me as well.
And now we have to wait another four weeks before seeing the next step.
At least you are not rushing this build.
