  1. Nicely done! I have this kit on the shell (in wood) I will be watching your progress.
  2. 10/8 First putty coat and repair. I know that are we are probably to do more when I install the bulwarks. I used some primer to better see where I need more attention.
  3. 10/06. Planking continues. I will be painting the Hull after using wood putty. So I am going a rougher job with the planking that I would normally. 10/07 Completed the planking. I was not really sure how should the stern look. So I did it very roughly. I knew I had some work to do after installing the keel. See pictures to come.
  4. Planking is starting... The first plank required to be placed 3mm from the bottom of the false desk. I used some spacers to achieve that. I had to borrow some school glue from the girls. Of course, it had to be pink with glitters. LOL Result
  5. Another beautiful build! You are good a great job, as always big fan of your furled sails.
  6. Thank you Jack. It was indeed a pain to figure out what to do. The direction does not tell you how to handle the Stern.
  7. Here is the current status of the build. I have been working on fairing the frames to allow the false deck to adhere properly. I might have some additional work to do on the stern. The next steps will tell me. For the bow. I used some filler to ensure a good angle. Preparation for the deck planking
  8. Time for a little update. I have dry fitted the bulkheads. No major problem. Except the 2 number 5 Installed the second level desks and planked them. I blacked the inside of the bulkhead. Frame 13 and 14 gave me a few difficulties. It was my fault for not inserting #13 deep enough. Some deconstruction had to be made. I had some wood on the side of #14 for support when I will be planking.
  9. Hi Peter, I think I must have come across this site as well. You are right, great build and a lot of inspiration for my build. Here are the Japanese sites: https://www.theropetokyo.org/展示会作品集/第27回展-2002年/第27回展-4-5/ https://www.theropetokyo.org/展示会作品集/第41回展-2016年/第41回展-1-6/#41-05 I also like this french site. The scale is different (1/36) but great details especially on the rigging. http://www.planeteloisirs-bg.fr/index_fichiers/pages/bateau/marie-jeanne-1.html
  10. Hi Jack, Thank you. I have bookmarked your build . You did a great job! So far I am having the same type of frustration with the direction as you had. The pictures are not always easy to follow.
