Saettia Genoese by maurino

Hi Nils, my sails are all sewn by hand, do not have a sewing machine ....... and do not know the use !!! The sails may look a little different from each other just because they are hand sewn and the seams, despite the efforts, are slightly different from each other. Once finished the work on the sails hope that a pass with the iron makes them more uniform. Reciprocate the good wishes, I wish you and your family and friends a Merry Christmas !!! Mauro -

Hi Hans, the plans do not exist on the market, I used those developed by a talented naval model maker who began building a few years ago the same model. I do not know if he has completed the construction, I hope to do it ........... -

Start laying the planking of the deck , I'm using strips of walnut that will be covered by a second shell of pine or oak. Mauro -

I shaped the sides of the bow of obtaining the groove typical of hearses, which facilitates the loading of goods. Furthermore'm reinforcing the inside of the sides with strips placed vertically which will then be covered by strips thinner, clearly horizontally placed. Mauro -

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
