Your work is looking good B.E. I am enjoying your build log. The yellow cedar is a great wood to work with.

Hi Bryan and welcome to Model Ship World. You have picked a good kit to start your journey in building ship models. I think you will be OK with the transom.

Congratulations Melissa on finishing your Statenjacht. You did a beautiful job on this kit and it will be a joy to display. I am sure that you learned more new skills on this build that you will use on your future ship models.

Hi East Ender and welcome to Model Ship World. Are you a member of the Deltaville Ship Modelers Guild? They meet monthly at the Deltaville Maritime Museum. Some of their members are also members of the Hampton Roads Ship Model Society that meets at the Mariners Museum in Newport News. Good to have you aboard.

Congratulations on finishing your first wooden ship model. You have done what a lot of first time ship modelers have not done and that is to complete the build. You faced many problems during the build, but you learned to overcome and work around the problems. I bet that there are a lot of builds that have wood inserted into gaps, wood filler added to spots and paint covering mistakes that you would never know about. The main thing is you did not give up and I applaud you for this. You have learned a lot and I look forward to seeing your next build as you will find an improvement in your skills.

Your build is coming along nicely. Glad you have learned to solve some of the problems that have occurred during the build.

Welcome to Model Ship World DJ. With the help and support from the members on MSW, you will do great in restoring your father's model. This is a family heirloom that you and future generations will cherish forever.

Hi John and welcome to Model Ship World. I often hear of modelers looking for certain 3D printed figures for their models. A good source of some figures is Vanguard Models, whose owner is a member of this site. I believe there is a good market for 3D scale figures.

Hi Wookie and welcome to Model Ship World. The Lowell Grand Banks Dory is an excellent kit to start learning the skills necessary to build wooden ship models. There are many build logs on this site for that kit. You have gotten off to a good start and you definitely want to bevel where the planks lie against the frames and the bottom. Keep up the good work.
