  1. Oy, tough decision. Can you cobble up a fixture to do the vee parts of the boom with the thicker rod, since they look symmetrical. Thicker only because of the strength needed. Then another jig holding the vee sections vertical, so you can attach the top parts. If it was brass rod, I'd go thinner, but my soldering skills are better employed doing electrical work. 😉 In prior endeavors, years back, I attempted a corrugated engine house and a car kit. Kept unsoldering prior work. Thank the stars for CA.😁
  2. very nice work with the painting, decaling and pin striping. Avery makes a lot of office supplies, one line of which is stick-on mailing labels. A reliable product line.
  3. Turning out nice. Good fix on the ignition cabling.
  4. Great looking weathering on the truck bed. Looks real. 👍
  5. Nicely done, Dan. A significant development in early jets.
  6. Nicely done. 😁
  7. I'm for the second option. Save wear and tear on your plaque. 😉
  8. OC, I think Gator Grip glue is available, but you need to email Kenny to get it. I'll second Alan's recommendation for using it. I apply the regular (thicker) with a paint brush. I keep a cup of water handy to clean the brush. And I let it tack up for a minute or so. Parts seem to stick well.
  9. I've had similar issues with clicking on the star. Should take me to just after my last entry/view. Sometimes it does (usually), but sometimes it just geets me to the page.
  10. Will be another great build, Greg. I seem to remember Gambier Bay was sunk off Leyte. Launched her birds to harass the Northern pincer. Ziggy Sprague's task group flagship? Read "Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors" .
  11. Michael, sounds like the phone apps we have for model railroaders using Digital Command Control systems. Do you have room for a speaker? 😁
  12. Beautiful work, Michael. What pressure can you use, if it's going to operate?
  13. Chris, that has everything but the kitchen sink in there. All that's missing is the wiring and tubing. WOW!
  14. Sounds like an inertia system. We had them in the F-4 and I suspect most fighters would have similar systems. We have them in cars now, too, since most everyone has some kind of upper body restraint system.
  15. Nice work on the tins and you "other" diorama, Alan. 👍😁
  16. Get well soon. You're both in our thoughts and prayers, mate.
  17. Kevin, I like it. It fits in with some stories told by a friend, who sailed diesel subs early on in his career. After every cruise, his wife made him burn all his clothes, due to the odor. So, the look you achieved works, at least for me.😉
  18. I disagree, in a fun way, Javlin. The older fighters (early jet age and earlier) were almost all gun fighters, so yeah, nothing hanging off the wings except maybe fuel tanks. For Viet Nam and later, gotta have some missiles on the fuselage and wing pylons. An F-4 or F-15 with 4 heaters and 4 radar missiles, gotta love it. Even a Tomcat, with 4 buffaloes, looks fierce, at least to this old fighter guy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, gentlemen.
  19. Leopold is progressing nicely, Denis. You have that chocolate problem, too? It's a real burden. 🙄 merry Christmas to you and yours and have a Happy New Year.
  20. Great idea with the ground up ceramic for desert sand. The car looks very good.👍
